'I Won't Dance: The Songs of Fred Astaire', created and performed by Justin Hayford, will be presented at DAVENPORT'S (1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830) on Saturday (8:00 pm) & Sunday (7:00 pm), January 23rd & 24th. Fred Astaire danced his way into movie superstardom, defining elegance and sophistication for a generation. But his contributions to American popular song are often overlooked. Come hear the now-classic tunes Astaire introduced on stage and screen, and learn all about his unlikely rise from childhood vaudeville hoofer to Hollywood icon. You'll hear songs from Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Dorothy Fields, the Gershwin brothers, and many more. "I Won't Dance is Justin Hayford's annual benefit for AIDS Legal Council (a program of the Legal Council for Health Justice) which provider free legal services to impoverished men, women and children with HIV." For this special event, you set your own admission price • and every dollar goes directly to help people in need. There is a 2-drink minimum.
