LONDON: STEVEN BRINBERG IS SIMPLY BARBRA
Due to phenomenal demand, Steven Brinberg returns to THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Tuesday through Saturday, September 15th through 19th at 8:00 pm with the show 'Simply Barbra celebrates Funny Lady', to coincide with the 40th release of the film Funny Lady, singing numerous songs from the film including the original ones by Kander and Ebb as well as well-known standards that were performed in the film. Musical director Nathan Martin and a different West End guest star accompany Brinberg each night. Want to see the real Barbra Streisand? Steven Brinberg's fans think that he gets closer to the superstar than she does. Steven has been acclaimed for his vocal performance of Barbra Streisand for over a decade around the world. He has also appeared in numerous symphony concerts with the late Marvin Hamlisch and sang at Stephen Sondheim's birthday concert at the Library of Congress in Washington DC. He has released two CDS, 'Live in London' and 'Duets' and has appeared in films such as Camp and Boys Live and in a concert version of Funny Girl on Broadway, featuring Whoopi Goldberg, Kristin Chenoweth. Paul L Martin Presents Lily Atkinson: Song Collection at THE PHEASANTRY (152-154 King's Road, London SW3 4UT - 08456 027 017) on Tuesday, September 15th at 8:30 pm. Mixing jazz, soul, and musical theatre, this exciting new singer has compiled a diverse show for the cabaret world. Performing both her own material and covers she has loved since she was a child, Lily touches on various aspects of femininity; the good and the bad. Raised in London, Lily has been writing and recording since the tender age of 13. Since leaving school, she has thrown herself into her music; honing her skills and perfecting her craft. While performing in venues across the capital, Lily has gradually moved into the world of cabaret and is now putting her own spin on classic numbers and finding her performance style. With her catchy melodies, honest lyrics and soulful voice, Lily is definitely one to watch. Call for cover/minimum information.
