LONDON: IAN SHAW CELEBRATES SINGER/ SONGWRITERS AT THE CRAZY COQS

Ian Shaw celebrates the great singer-songwriters from Leiber & Stoller, the Beatles, Carol King and Joni Mitchell to Elton John, David Bowie and Amy Winehouse at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Sunday, July 12th at 8:00 pm. Described as one of the most distinctive, original and creative jazz singers on the scene, Shaw is also a talented pianist and songwriter. Twice voted 'Best Jazz Vocalist' at the BBC Jazz Awards, nominated for a JazzFM award and with more than a dozen albums to his name, he is much in demand as the featured soloist with big bands and orchestras both in the UK and internationally, as well as pairing with the likes of Guy Barker, Liane Carroll and Claire Martin. LONDON: LATE NIGHT JAZZ AT THE CRAZY COQS WITH JAY RAYNER

The renowned restaurant critic, Masterchef judge and sometime jazz pianist Jay Rayner returns to THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Saturdays, July 4th & 11th at 10:30 pm with The Jay Rayner Quartet: Hungry Jazz, an ensemble of top flight musicians performing ninety minutes of tunes from the Great American food and drink songbook as part of the club's Late Night Jazz Series. There will be standards from the likes of Johnny Mercer, Harold Arlen, Blossom Dearie and Dave Frishberg, alongside anecdotes from his life eating out on somebody else's dime. Jay will also share stories about growing up with a mother, Claire Rayner, who was a sex advice columnist. Jay is joined on the 4th by Charlie Pyne on bass, Dave Lewis on sax, with vocals by Pat Gordon Smith. Call for cover/minimum information.

LONDON: JUDIE TZUKE - SONGS AND STORIES AT THE PHEASANTRY

Judie Tzuke comes to THE PHEASANTRY (152-154 King's Road, London SW3 4UT - 08456 027 017) on Friday through Sunday, July 10th through 12th at 8:30 pm for a very special gig; she will be performing acoustically as part of her 'Songs and Stories' experience. This promises to be an intimate evening of old favourites and new songs and tales from across her life and career. Judie Tzuke is one of the UK's finest Singer/ Songwriters and is known all over the world for her timeless song, 'Stay With Me Till Dawn', with many top 10 albums, including the revered classic, 'Welcome to the Cruise' and her exquisite live shows.
