NYC: SALON RESUMES JULY 12TH WITH "I LOVE NEW YORK"
SALON - that unique, Multiple Award Winning, Weekly Open Mic Event, created and hosted by Mark Janas will return to ETCETERA ETCETERA (352 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-399-4141 - ) on Sunday, July 12th from 7:00 pm -10:30 pm. (Sign-Up Begins at 6:15 pm). The Theme on the 12th is "I Love New York". Co-Hosts: Joseph Macchia & the vocal group FORTE (Thomas Dieter, Johnny Hagar, Skie Ocasio & Michael Osso) In the Salon Spotlight: Karen Oberlin. Salon will then continue every Sunday through the summer. Remember, any material, on or off theme, is always welcome at Salon. Salon is produced by Tanya Moberly. NYC: SUNDAY OPEN MIC AT THE MET - NOON TO 2:30 PM
Sunday Open Mic comes to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on the 2nd & 4th Sundays each month from 12:00 noon to 2:30 pm (signup ay 11:30 am). Presented and hosted by Susan Winter and Deb Berman, the "OPEN MIC AT THE MET" is not your average Open Mic since it will be presented on the iconic stage, with amazing acoustics, high-end equipment, and experienced sound engineer to help create a concert-like experience in Metropolitan Room's friendly, warm environment. Each Open Mic offers different pianists to accompany your performance. There is a $15 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.
NYC: LISA ELLEX - BACK TO BACHARACH
Cabaret veteran Lisa Ellex, noted jazz vocalist Nancy Reed and musical theatre performer Stephen Caputo, present a 75-minute rrevue featuring the best-loved hits of composer and pianist, Burt Bacharach at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, July 12th at 7:00 pm. With Ricky Ritzel on piano and Mike Dopazo on sax, this nostalgic tribute covers hits from 1961 though 1970, proving that decades later, the genious of Bacharach remains relevant, fresh and exciting. Working as a writer and performer on the New York and Provincetown cabaret circuit led Lisa to a long-term gig as lead vocalist for THE NEW VIPER JAZZTET. An actress and singer by night, Lisa's day job had her selecting programming for the launch of HBO's, COMEDY CHANNEL, where she also wrote and produced junkets. Moving to HBO DOWNTOWN PRODUCTIONS, Lisa wrote guest segments for comedian Alan Havey's talk show, NIGHT AFTER NIGHT on COMEDY CENTRAL. She worked on the staff of numerous NYC TV productions, including NIGHT MUSIC with David Sanborn and Jools Holland. A prolific playwright, her comedy, HOME SHOPPING is being produced for SHAWNEE PLAYHOUSE's 2016 Fall season. She is currently writing and directing, MUSIC ON THE MENU, a half-hour episodic concerning Jazz and food. There is a $20 cover.

Members of Gotham Rock Choir, NYC's only Pop, Rock and Soul Choir, perform at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Sunday, July 12th ar 7:00 pm. You can join them as each of the members get unplugged from the choir and take the stage to perform some of their own favorite tunes! There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: AARON JACKSON & JOSH SHARP: A GAY SHOW FOR ALL PEOPLE!
Aaron Jackson (UCB) and Josh Sharp (Vulture's '50 Comics You Should Know') host a gay show for all people at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Sunday, June 14th at 9:30 pm. The show is filled with songs and laughs from comics and queers and mostly people who are both. Always featuring handsome hunk Henry Koperski on the keys. This month the show features Guy Branum (Billy on the Street, Chelsea Lately), Lilli Cooper (Wicked, Spring Awakening), Claudia Coogan (Last Comic Standing) and Tim Dillon (Gotham Comedy Live)! There is a $12 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: JOE'S PUB PRESENTS RICARDO GALLO'S TIERRA DE NADIE
Ricardo Gallo / "Tierra de Nadie" will be presented at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Sunday, July 11th at 7:30 pm. The show performs music conceived as a sort of imaginary musical folklore, a "No man's land" which is the intriguing basis for exploratory improvisations. The compositions picture a landscape devoid of flags, providing space for the musical personalities of the players. The band features a stellar line up which in this occasion consists of: Mark Helias on bass, Dan Blake on saxophones, Reut Regev on trombone, Pheeroan akLaff on drums, and Ricardo Gallo on piano and compositions. Its debut recording "The Great Fine Line" was released on November 2010 by Clean Feed Records. The band returns to Joe's Pub with new repertoire for an upcoming release. There is a $15 cover.
NYC: CRISTIN MILIOTI RETURNS TO JOE'S PUB
Cristin Milioti returns to JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE(425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Sunday, July 12th at 9:30 pm, after numerous sold out concerts, including the prestigious Lincoln Center's American Songbook. Cristin is known for her dramatic, comedic, and musical work on stage, television and in film. She starred as "Girl" in the Broadway smash hit musical ONCE, for which Cristin won a Grammy Award and was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical. On film, Milioti was most recently seen in Martin Scorsese's THE WOLF OF WALL STREET playing Jordan Belfort's (Leonardo DiCaprio's) wife, Teresa Petrillo. Milioti also played Tracy McConnell aka "The Mother" on CBS's hit comedy, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, and most recently joined the cast of season two on FX's Golden Globe-winning drama, FARGO. Last fall she starred in the NBC comedy, A TO Z. There is a $30 cover.
NYC: THE CAST OF PHANTOM SINGS ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER
The Broadway at Birdland concert series is proud to announce that the Broadway cast of The Phantom of the Opera will celebrate the songs written by their composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber, in concert on Sunday, July 12th at 6:00pm at BIRDLAND(315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) . This will be the first in a series of many tribute concerts by the cast of the record-breaking musical, and will benefit BROADWAY CARES/EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS. The show will be hosted by the current Phantom himself, James Barbour, joined by his co-stars Julia Udine (Christine), Kaley Ann Voorhees (Christine at certain performances), Jeremy Hays (Raoul), Laird Mackinosh (Andre) and Michele McConnell (Carlotta); ensemble members Katharine Heaton, Satomi Hofmann, Kenneth Kantor, Greg Mills, Nathan Patrick Morgan, Bronson Norris Murphy, Carly Blake Sebouhian, Jeremy Stolle, Paul A. Schaefer, Carrington Vilmont and Elizabeth Welch; as well as company member Bobby Wallace. The Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Group production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, directed by theater legend Harold Prince, is the longest-running show in Broadway history. Having played to more than 140 million people in 31 countries around the world, Phantom is arguably the most popular musical of all time. Lloyd Webber's sweepingly romantic score includes the cherished standards "The Music of the Night" and "All I Ask of You." Phantom tells the story of a disfigured musical genius known as 'The Phantom,' who haunts the depths of the Paris Opera House. Mesmerized by the talents and beauty of a young soprano - Christine - The Phantom lures her as his protege and falls fiercely in love with her. Unaware of Christine's love for Raoul, The Phantom's obsession sets the scene for a dramatic turn of events where jealousy, madness and passions collide. The award-winning Broadway at Birdland concert series has been celebrating the performers and creators from the Great White Way at the historic music room for the past twelve years.
