NYC: HAROLD SANDITEN FLYIN' HIGH IN NEW YORK CITY
Harold Sanditen, the suave and talented host of the Coqs' hugely popular Open Mic Night, is delighted to introduce his newest solo show, FLYIN' HIGH, as part of his world tour, at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Thursday, April 23rd at 7:00 pm. An intrepid traveller, having visited every continent except Antarctica, Sanditen finds the humour everywhere he goes, something that shines through in his performances. From Albuquerque to the Zambezi, with songs ranging from Bacharach and the Beatles to Jobim and Weill, this 65-stop world tour is packed with songs, laughs, exciting, new, jazz-infused arrangements and perhaps even a tear or two. Come find out who said "Bloody hell, mate! Aren'tcha gonna take me back to the tent and take advantage of me?!" Since bursting onto the jazz and cabaret scene in 2008, Sanditen has devised six cabaret shows in as many years and has played to packed houses from London to LA. Before finding his own voice, Harold spent 20 years as a theatre producer where he worked with actors ranging from Academy Award winners to complete up-and-comers. During these three shows, a "Live at The Crazy Coqs" CD will be recorded. This will be the first CD recorded in the venue for commercial release. Harold will be joined on stage by Michael Roulston on piano, Tom Mansi on bass and Jonathan Kitching on drums. There is a $10-$45 cover.

Charles Baran, a rising actor and performer who in 2013 left a successful career in Design Management to become a full time actor, performs at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Thursday, April 23rd at 9:30 pm. His career thus far has been marked with many successes in many prestigious roles, among which have been Larry Foreman in The Cradle Will Rock at Theater 80 St. Marks in NYC, Geoffrey in the new comedy Geoffrey and Jeffrey in the Thespis Festival at Cabrini Rep in NYC, (nominated for 2013 Best Actor Award), a featured role in Harold Rome's Pins and Needles at Theatre 80 St. Marks and LaMama in NYC, The Kingdom at Mabou Mines, Walkabout Yeolha at Columbia Stages, Clyde Tolson in The File on J. Edgar Hoover in the 2013 Fresh Fruit Festival, Emmet Watson in Juan and Emmet and his favorite role to date Burke Kendall in 2013's revival of Stand Up Tragedy. On February 14, 2014 Charles debuted his first club act - Charles Baran's Saint Valentine's Day Massacred! at Sophie's on West 53rd Street, NYC. His film credits include A Foreign Heart of Hope and the independent short Perspective. His upcoming projects include Horace Vandergelder in Hello Dolly at the Interlakes Theater in Meredith, New Hampshire, Artie in the new play The Home, and Sam Male in the webseries Watercooler Madness. NYC: MARTHA LORIN AND JON WEBER AT DON'T TELL MAMA
Jazz vocalist Martha Lorin and NPR's Jon Weber will present 'Songs from The American Standards Songbook' at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Thursday, April 23rd at 7:30 pm. Singer/ Lyricist/ Songwriter Martha Loren and Jon Weber, rising star of the NPR's Piano Jazz, will entertain with a program that will include standards as well as a few lesser known songs written by American composers. This week they are joined by Sean Harkness on guitar. Martha Lorin was raised to be a singer and has pursued a career in jazz as a singer/lyricist/songwriter ever since. She followed her grandmother and mother, Sarah and Margaret Dalton, into this profession as a singer of jazz with such passion that her career took off. Martha's singing debut was at San Francisco's' Hungry I. Her career gained speed and she received a reputation for working with the best musicians in the business! Her debut LP "The Best is Yet to Come" produced by Henry Lewi (Joni Mitchell) featured jazz icons Pee Wee Ellis, Larry Klein, Mark Isham, besides others. With this first project, Martha performed throughout the US, Asia and Europe. In 1980 she met pianist/composer Frank Collette and began a collaboration as lyricist that resulted in several Billboard Award winning songs. Martha's singing appearances include: Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, The Iridium Jazz Club, South Bend Jazz Festival, Trio's Jazz Club, Pearl's, Feinstein's at the Regency, Judy's, 88's, Metropolitan Room, Green Mill, Catch 35, Bailiwick Theater, Milford Theater, The Gardenia to name a few. Martha's recordings include "A Celebration of Ella" with the late Paul Smith, "Come Walk With Me" featuring saxophone great Von Freeman, percussionist Leon Joyce, the late jazz icon Johnny Frigo on violin (who wrote the beautiful poem about Martha in the liner notes), bassist Eddie DeHass and bassist Larry Grey. "Blues Over Broadway" her collaboration with the great pianist Russ Kassoff, is a set arranged by Russ especially for Martha. Featuring bassist Larry Gray, percussionist Leon Joyce and guitarist Curtis Robinson. Highlights include the number one radio hit "Alone Together" "Send in the Clowns" (featuring Larry Gray' first involvement as a flutist on record) and her 91/2 minute version of the Rodgers/Hart classic "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered". Martha even has an unreleased project (like many other recording artists) featuring songs of the patriotic genre, produced by Charles Osgood of CBS fame. Those recordings feature Ted Firth and Bucky and John Pizzarelli. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

After moving to Nashville at 18, she enjoyed some success as a country music artist. In search of a clean slate, she packed a bag for New York City. She was looking for a do-over, an opportunity to reinvent herself. She found her home in the clubs and theaters of Manhattan where she transfixed audiences with her one-woman show. West is a musical maverick in the masquerade of pin-up perfection. Musically captivating and innovative, she knows she has been a hard case for the industry to define. NYC: JENNIFER SHEEHAN IN "STARDUST: A NIGHT IN THE COSMOS"

"STARDUST: A Night in the Cosmos" is a show that goes where no show has gone before, traversing a wide spectrum of great songs and stories that trace our life-long love affair with the magnificent and mysterious night sky! Music from artists as diverse as Duke Ellington, David Bowie, Kurt Weill, Sergio Mendes, Joni Mitchell, Harry Warren, Pink Martini and others evoke the many emotions we feel over a lifetime of looking up at the moon and the stars. The show ventures even farther - out into the stars - with songs and stories about amazing discoveries and adventures now taking place in outer space! Ms. Sheehan's stellar quartet includes music director and pianist James Followell, Steven Bargonetti on guitar, Jered Egan on bass and Dan Gross on percussion. NYC: MARILYN MAYE SINGS SINATRA AT 54 BELOW IN 8 SHOW RUN
Popular vocalist Marilyn Maye performs a Sinatra-themed show at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) for 8 shows, opening on Friday, April 17th at 7:00 pm. Remaining shows are on Thursday, April 23th at 7:00 pm; Friday, April 24th at 8:30 pm; Saturday, April 25th at 7:00 pm; Monday & Tuesday, April 27th & 28th at 7:00 pm; and Thursday, April 30th at 7:00 pm. Marilyn Maye is an artist for connoisseurs and her powerhouse delivery and chatty rapport with the audience is what holds the evening together and electrifies the proceedings. The aptly named production is an unabashed valentine to the late superstar, from the Super Singer that pays tribute to Sinatra's career with an immensely talented peer's interpretations of the songs that made Sinatra famous.
