LOS ANGELES: SANDY BAINUM - "IT MIGHT BE FUN"
Sandy Bainum presents "It Might Be Fun" at STERLING'S AT THE FEDERAL (5303 Lankershim Boulevard, North Hollywood, CA - 818-754-8700) on Sunday, March 22nd at 7:00 pm. "It Might Be Fun" is a new and exciting departure for Sandy ... an all new concert act based on her latest CD album of all original songs. Sandy takes you on a journey that runs the gamut of emotion. The final song on the album, "Two Roads," is a brand new song receiving its premiere recording, written by Bruce Kimmel with two-time Academy Award winning Richard M. Sherman. The album was recorded in Los Angeles at the historic Capitol Studios Studio A with a phenomenal 35-piece orchestra. It was arranged, orchestrated and conducted by award-winning musical director Lanny Meyers and produced by Grammy-nominated producer Bruce Kimmel. There is a $20 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.

Anne Steele is releasing her brand new original EP titled "What's Mine" on the West Coast with a one night only concert at ROCKWELL: TABLE & STAGE (1714 Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, CA - 323-669-1550) on Sunday, March 22nd at 8:00 pm after a sold out concert at Joe's pub in NYC. This EP is the debut of Anne as a songwriter and will be an incredibly exciting night for both Anne and the audience! She will bring her vibrant pop sound to her own music for the first time. After a sold out run in 2014, Paula West returns to FEINSTEIN'S AT THE NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 866-663-1063) for another winter residency with an all new show featuring an ecletic mix of songs from memorable jazz standards by Cole Porter and Rodgers and Hart to contemporary American classics by Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones. Performances are Thursdays through Sundays, February 12th through March 22nd at 8:00 pm on Thursdays & Fridays, and 7:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. Paula West is a Bay Area favorite, known for her rich and powerful contralto voice. She has released four CDs including "Temptation" (1997) "Restless" (1999) "Come What May" (2001) and "Live at Jazz Standard" (2012). West performs across the Country as well as internationally and has shared stages with Rosemary Clooney, Jimmy Scott, Oscar Brown Jr. Freddy Cole, Mose Allison, Mavis Staples and Dave Frishberg. She has been the featured vocalist with Wynton Marsalis at Jazz at Lincoln Center, performed at the White House and had a sold out debut at the Maison de la Musique in Paris. She'll be joined onstage by her four piece band that includes Adam Schulman and Bruce Barth on piano, Barak Mori and John Witala on bass, Ed Cherry on guitar and Jerome Jennings on drums and, together, they will take their Feinstein's audiences on a musical journey through the ages. There is a $35-$50 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

On Sunday, March 22nd, the club will present Denny Berthiaume, piano and Jeff Buenz, guitarPianist Denny Berthiaume, has performed with Bobby McFerrin, Diane Schuur, Joe Williams, and Ed Thigpen. He recorded 4 albums as co-leader of the successful fusion group Solar Plexus, and has appeared at jazz festivals in Monterey, the Russian River, San Jose, and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.•Guitarist Jeff Buenz has enjoyed a varied career in music for the last 30 years. He is a producer, recording artist, composer, arranger and educator. He taught at DeAnza College for 30 years, and was a California Arts Council "Artist in Residence" for 9 years. He has performed and/or recorded with Stanley Turrentine, Flora Purim, Airto Moreira, Toninho Horta, Viva Brasil, Canoneo, and Claudia Gomez. During the last 6 years, Jeff has worked as a CMP (Certified Music Practioner) at Stanford Hospital and other medical facilities. $25 cover, includes small plates & beverage. Call for directions.
