NYC: REMEMBERING ELAINE STRITCH AT THE MET

THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) will salute the legendary Elaine Stritch with an evening of stories and songs on Thursday, August 7th at 7:00 pm. Hosted by the famed cabaret's owner, Bernard Furshpan, performers of all backgrounds will join forces to honor her memory. A portion of the evening's proceeds will benefit Elaine's favorite charity. Showbiz legend Pia Zadora, 7-time MAC Award winner Natalie Douglas and Annaleigh Ashford, a Tony-nominee for Kinky Boots, will appear in the concert. They are joined by Shaleah Adkisson, Christopher Borger (The Lion King, Finnian's Rainbow), Lisa Brescia (Wicked, Mamma Mia, Aida), Baby Jane Dexter, Jordan Scott Gilbert, Daryl Glenn, Jeff Harnar, Darius Harper, Anna Kirkland, Steven Carl McCasland, Liz McKendry, Travis Moser, Marquise Neal (Kinky Boots), N'Kenge (Motown), Maria Ottavia, Craig Pomeranz, Scott Siegel (Broadway By The Year), Elaine St. George, K.T. Sullivan, Debbie Bush Whiting, Sunny Leigh, and Debra Grace Winer. The evening will be musically directed by Barry Levitt on piano with Jon Burr on Bass and Howie Gordon on drums. There is a $22.50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: JEFFERY & COLE PRESENT:POSTCARDS FROM THE EDGE 2: EDITH HEAD'S REVENGE

After a sold-out run of their live show last summer, internet comedy duo Jeffery Self and Cole Escola are reuniting once again at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 ) for 5 dates in July & August to conjure up the same magic that made their TV show, "Jeffery & Cole Casserole," a cult hit. Show dates are Thursday through Saturday, July 31st through August 2nd, at 9:30 pm; Thursday & Friday, August 7th & 8th at 9:30 pm. Their new live show, "Postcards from the Edge 2: Edith Head's Revenge" is a ridiculous long-form sketch piece inspired by the fact that Carrie Fisher lives next door to her mother, Debbie Reynolds, in a house that once belonged to the famous costume designer Edith Head. In the show, Jeffery and Cole play various characters and explore what might happen if the ghost of Edith Head were haunting Carrie Fisher and if Debbie Reynolds wore a lot of velour. NYC: PIA ZADORA AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

Golden Globe winner, Grammy nominee, ShowWest winner, accomplished singer, film and Broadway star Pia Zadora will perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) for 5 nights in Augusts. Performance dates are Tuesday, Wednesday & Saturday, August 5th, 6th & 9th at 7:00 pm; Thursday, August 7th at 9:30 pm; and Sunday, August 10th at 4:00 pm. Performing since the age of six, for those who have seen her in concert, what comes to mind first, and describes this multi-talented performer is simply this: Pia Zadora is the complete entertainer. Pia's career began on Broadway with Tallulah Bankhead after she was discovered while studying acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Art. This success led to a number of Broadway shows including a two-year stint as Tevye's youngest daughter in Fiddler On The Roof with Zero Mostel; the Broadway stage version of The World of Henry Orient; and featured roles in Applause, Promises Promises, The Sound Of Music, Little Mary Sunshine, Funny Girl, Damn Yankees, Crazy for You and Dames At Sea. Pia also appeared on television in The Nurses, The Defenders, Ed Sullivan, and The Perry Como Show. Later she appeared in the feature films with Orson Welles in The Lonely Lady, with Stacy Keach in Butterfly, Hairspray and Naked Gun 33 1/3rd: The Final Insult. NYC: NELLIE MCKAY: A GIRL NAMED BILL

Nellie McKay will bring her show A Girl Named Bill - The Life and Times of Billy Tipton to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Tuesday through Thursday, August 5th through 7th at 7:00 pm and Friday & Saturday, August 8th & 9th at 8:00 pm. Nellie McKay has recently finished an extended run in the off-Broadway hit Old Hats and has written two acclaimed musical biographies, Silent Spring: It's Not Nice to Fool Mother Nature, an exploration of environmental pioneer Rachel Carson, and I Want to Live!, the story of Barbara Graham, the third woman executed in the gas chamber at San Quentin. Nellie's music has been heard on the TV shows Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire, Weeds, Grey's Anatomy, NCIS and Nurse Jackie, and McKay has appeared on numerous TV shows including Late Show with David Letterman (with the Brooklyn Philharmonic). In 2010, the Chase Brock Experience produced a ballet of Obligatory Villagers, and her writing has appeared in The Onion, Interview and The New York Times Book Review, where she delivered an incisive in-depth review of a Doris Day biography. Nellie produced her critically acclaimed, debut double album Get Away From Me with Beatles' engineer Geoff Emerick, followed by Pretty Little Head, Obligatory Villagers, Normal as Blueberry Pie: A Tribute to Doris Day, and her latest, Home Sweet Mobile Home. Nellie will be performing with her band members, Alexi David on bass, Cary Park on guitar, and Kenneth Salters on drums. There is a $50-$60 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: JUDY KAYE RETURNS TO 54 BELOW

Judy Kaye, Broadway legend and two time Tony Award winner (Phantom of the Opera, Nice Work If You Can Get It) makes a splash at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Thursday, August 7th at 9:30 pm with her new show celebrating the work of Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim. Having worked with both, she'll share humorous anecdotes and personal reminiscences along with her own unique take on some of her favorites from these two giants of the American Musical Theatre. There is a $35-$45 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

Like a ride to summer camp in the back of a station wagon, each eye-watering performance is ridiculously one-of-a-kind, and, best of all, the proceeds benefit BROADWAY CARES/EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS .
