NYC: SHANA FARR SINGS THE SONGS OF JULIE ANDREWS
FEATURED CABARET BENEFIT EVENT
Award-winning songstress Shana Farr brings her acclaimed show 'Whistling Away the Dark Through Songs of Julie Andrews' to GUILD HALL (1 East 29th Street, NYC - RESV: 212-685-2927) on Thursday, April 11th at 7:00 pm. The show is a concert to benefit The Episcopal Actors' Guild It promises to be an evening of music inspired by the rich collection of lyrics and melodies that today are synonymous with Julie Andrews. The concert will include great American standards by Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lerner & Loewe, and the Gershwins, as well as lesser known numbers by Henry Mancini, Noel Coward, Arthur Schwartz, and more. For this special event, Farr will be joined by Robert Windeler, author of Julie Andrews: A Life on Stage and Screen. Founded in 1923, EAG is a non-sectarian not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping performers in need. Suggested Donation: $10 (EAG members) & $15 (non-members).
