NYC: KAREN GROSS - CABARET MIXTAPE
Karen Gross presents 'Mixtape' at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Saturday, April 13th at 4:30 pm. The show is directed by Lina Koutrakos with musical direction by Rick Jensen.Before the age of iTunes, cassette mixtapes served as diaries of love, friendship, heartbreak, adventure and musical discovery. Created with care, shared with friends and lovers, mixtapes were filled with songs that made us laugh, cry, dance and sing along. From Broadway to Britney, singer-songwriters to the American songbook, '80s lite rock to Lilith Fair, sassy cabaret chanteuse Karen Gross revisits and and reimagines the songs, the stories, the memories: the mixtape. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
