NYC: MARK SINGER - SONGS FROM THE FIRST 50
English major, Wall Street investor, opera singer, writer, arts executive, actor, CFO - Mark Singer brings his show Songs From the First 50 toTHE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ) on Thursday, April 11th at 7:00 pm. In Songs From the First 50, Mark Singer explores a life spent in many different spheres, but built around a single constant - music. An accomplished singer/actor with an extensive performance history in concert, the theater, opera, and cabaret, Mark traces the path that led him to a partnership at investment firm Sanford C. Bernstein and Co. even as he was building an operatic career with the avant-garde Magic Circle Opera Repertory Ensemble, and follows the many turns that path has taken since. It's an unusual story, vividly illustrated by the songs of Stephen Sondheim, Rogers and Hammerstein, Leonard Bernstein, Kander and Ebb, Frank Loesser and many others. With original musical arrangements by Musical Director Julia Mendelsohn, Songs From the First Fifty is an exuberant celebration of one man's life and the love of music that pervades it.
