NYC: THE JOHN MILLER QUARTET PLUS 2 DEBUTS ATTHE CUTTING ROOM
THE JOHN MILLER QUARTET PLUS 2 will debut at CUTTING ROOM (44 East 32nd Street, NYC - 212-691-1900 - ) on Friday, February 1st for two shows after an unprecedented 21 week-run at the New York nightclub 54 Below. There will be performances at 10:00 & 11:30 pm. John Miller - the music and theater industry veteran best known as a bassist and music coordinator - brings together an all-star group of Broadway musicians who get together after the curtain falls to play their deep-groove favorites. In addition to Miller on bass, the show will feature Larry Saltzman on Guitar (Simon and Garfunkel, Carole King, Bette Midler, Chris Botti), John Korba on Piano (Hall & Oates, Phoebe Snow, Carly Simon, John Waite), Clint DeGanon on Drums (Stuff, Kid Rock, Elvis Costello, Saturday Night Live Band), David Mann on Tenor Sax (Tower of Power, James Taylor, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder), and Joe Passaro on Percussion (Aretha Franklin, Manhattan Transfer, Nina Simone, Donald Fagen). As Music Coordinator for over one hundred Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals - ranging from recent hits like "Once," "Rock of Ages" and "Newsies" to long-running smashes like "Jersey Boys" and "The Producers"; to classic revivals like "Follies," "The Music Man" and "Sweet Charity" - Miller has helped shape the sound of the Great White Way for the last thirty years. As one of the busiest freelance bass players in New York, he has played and recorded with an unbelievable cast of characters including P. Diddy, Leonard Cohen, Michael Jackson, Smashing Pumpkins, Frank Sinatra, Madonna, Art Garfunkel, Aerosmith, Bette Midler, Bob Dylan, Celine Dion, B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Carly Simon, Tony Bennett, Luther Vandross, Diana Ross, Pete Seeger, Tommy Flannigan and the New York Philharmonic. There is a $10 cover.
