NYC: TONY-WINNING LISA LAMBERT & FRIENDS IN CONCERT AT BIRDLAND
On Monday, December 10th at 7:00 pm, Tony-Winning Co-Creator of Drowsy Chaperone Lisa Lambert and her friends will appear atBIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080 - ) to celebrate her turning 50. Her guests include Jonathan Crombie, David Cromer, Cole Escola, Cady Huffman, Troy Britton Johnson, Beth Leavel, and Greg Morrison. They will revisit The Drowsy Chaperone, "Slings & Arrows," "Skippy's Rangers: The Show They Never Gave," and an assortment of her other delightful, sometimes misguided, musical comedy ventures. This concert will be part of the long-running Broadway at Birdland concert series, with all proceeds going toBROADWAY CARES/EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS . Lisa Lambert won the 2006 Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, and Outer Critics Circle Award for her work on The Drowsy Chaperone, a musical that played the Toronto Rivoli, Toronto Fringe Festival, Theatre Passe Muraille and Toronto Wintergarden, before moving to the Ahmanson Theater in LA and the Marquis Theatre on Broadway. The show has been produced in England and Japan, and in 2010 a production in Australia starred Geoffrey Rush, who will also star in the film. There is a $25 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.
