NYC: MARCUS SIMEONE TO RELEASE FIRST STUDIO ALBUM
Four-time MAC Award winner Marcus Simeone returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, October 9th at 9:30 pm to celebrate the official release of his first studio album, "Haunted" on the Miranda Music label. Additional performances are scheduled for Saturday, November 5th at 9:30 pm, Friday, November 18th at 7:00 pm, Sunday, December 4th at 9:30 pm and Monday, December 19th at 9:30 pm. Well known for his multi-octave range and expressive vocals, Marcus remains one of today's most acclaimed and versatile interpreters of a song. This engagement also celebrates a decade since he made his cabaret debut at Don't Tell Mama. He is joined on stage by 2011 MAC Award winner Sean Harkness on guitar and Mary Ann McSweeney on bass. Tracy Stark is Music Director. Vocalists Tanya Holt and Marissa Mulder will alternate as special guests for this engagement. The new show will include the song "Haunted," which won the 2011 MAC Award as Song of the Year for Marcus and Tracy. It will also debut his brand new song, "Long Time To Cry" (written for this show) as well as songs by some of today's finest contemporary songwriters' from John Bucchino to David Zippel (and a little surprise from Stephen Sondheim.) Classics from the American songbook are also honored. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
