MW: CABARET DETROIT: BRINGS STORIES TOLD IN SONG
The art form known as cabaret, featuring the American song book, musical theater and contemporary songwriters, comes to southeast Michigan for 8 performances, beginning Thursday, April 7th at BASTONE (419 South Main Street, Royal Oak, MI - tkts: http://www.cabaretdetroit.com/ ). Cabaret Detroit, established by theatrical director and public relations professional Sharlan Douglas, will present additional performances on Thursdays at 8:00 pm on April 7th, 14th, 28th and May 5th and Sundays at 7:00 pm on April 10th, 17th and May 1st and 8th. The debut performers will be Caren Kapson of Royal Oak and Roy Sexton of Saline. Cabaret Detroit has recruited other singers and accompanists who are developing sets of songs, which the organization intends to present during the months of June and September. Tickets are $15 available online, and also at the door (if available). Full cocktail service is available.
