A MARCH IS CABARET MONTH EVENT
CAFE SABARSKY AT NEUE GALERIE (1048 Fifth Avenue, NYC - 212-288-0665) continues its unique series devoted primarily to German and Austrian music of the 1890s to 1930s, some of the most vibrant and innovative music created in the modern era. On Thursday, March 24th, performer is Sarah Wolfson, with Ji-Young Li, piano. The program traces in song the cross-continental journey of composer Kurt Weill, from Berlin to Paris to New York to Hollywood, and includes the musical highlights both well-known and more obscure from each of these periods of Weill s life. Operated by Kurt Gutenbrunner, chef and owner of the renowned restaurant Wallse, Cabaret at Cafe Sabarsky offers a gourmet three-course prix-fixe dinner preceding every performance. All performances are at 9:00 pm, preceded by a prix-fixe dinner at 7:00 pm. Combined cost is $110 (dinner $65, performance $45; purchased together).
