AUS: "MELBOURNE CABARET FESTIVAL" JULY 21st THROUGH 26th

Set in the historic South Melbourne Emerald Hill precinct, The Melbourne Cabaret Festival will present a six day feast of cabaret featuring an opening night gala on Wednesday, July 21st at 8:30 pm (ALREADY SOLD OUT), and more than 40 performances, Thursday through Monday, July 22nd through 26th. The eclectic BUTTERFLY CLUB (204 Bank Street, South Melbourne, VIC) and the stunning stages within the adjacent SOUTH MELBOURNE TOWN HALL (210 Bank Street, South Melbourne, VIC) will buzz with multiple performances each night. From the intimate showroom of The Butterfly Club, to the fascinating heritage surrounds of the former Council Chamber, the imposing chandelier space of the Ballantyne Room and the spectacular Victoriana grace of the Grand Hall, the Festival hub will transform into an exciting precinct for cabaret.

Hosted by Alan Brough (Spicks & Specs, ABC radio) the glittering start to the star-studded Festival, the opening night gala will showcase 90 minutes of some of the very best cabaret talent from the program - each a window flung open onto the exciting and diverse entertainment of the nights ahead. The line-up will feature Toni Lamond AM, Yana Alana & Tha Paranas, vocal group Suade and Jon Jackson.
Non-stop cabaret events for the rest of the festival include performances by Toni Lamond AM, Eddie Perfect & the Brodsky Quartet (UK), Mic Conway, Steve Ross (New York), Jon Jackson, Sammy J, Sally Bourne, Susan-Ann Walker, Yana Alana, Martin Martini, Mikelangelo, The Beautiful Losers, plus many others, featuring multiple shows nightly in four performance spaces

The inaugural Melbourne Cabaret Festival is presented by a partnership spearheaded by The Butterfly Club in association with the Australian National Academy of Music, the City of Port Phillip, the South Melbourne Business Association, the Ron and Margaret Dobell Foundation and Yalumba Wines. Neville Sice and David Read own & operate Melbourne's iconic Butterfly Club.
