NYC: CABARET CARES/HELP IS ON THE WAY TODAY ANNUAL GALA
FEATURED CABARET BENEFIT EVENT

Cabaret Cares/Help Is On The Way Today will hold its annual fundraising Gala on Sunday, May 17th, at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440). Help Is On The Way Today is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2005 by MAC AWARD winning producer, Joseph Macchia, to assist children and youth living with HIV and AIDS. Doors open at 5:00 pm, and after mingling and conversation, buffet dinner will be served at 6:00 pm. At 7:30 pm the live auction begins, with the show and awards presentations beginning at 8:00 pm. The Gala ticket includes a cocktail hour, a delicious buffet dinner, unlimited beer, wine, soda and the special Gala cocktail, a fabulous show with New York's finest Broadway and Cabaret talent, a live auction and a gift bag. Doors open at 5:00 pm, and after mingling and conversation, buffet dinner will be served at 6:00 pm. The talent lineup includes: Jim Brochu, Beau Howard, Barbara Malley, Karen Mason, Liz McKendry, Gretchen Reinhagen, Anthony Santelmo Jr., Stacy Sullivan and more to be announced. 2015 MAC Award winner, Tom Gamblin, will host. Since its founding in 2005, Help Is On The Way Today has raised over $100,000.00 and assisted more than 700 children in need. Fundraising is undertaken primarily through monthly performances by many of New York's finest nightclub and theater performers, and supports annual Backpack and School Supply Drive, scholarships for summer camp and an annual Holiday Toy and Gift Drive. The charity also helps families and organizations with special and immediate needs. Help Is On The Way Today is currently working on a new mentoring initiative. LONG BEACH, NY: ARTISTS IN PARTNERSHIP PRESENTS 13TH ANNUAL CABARET FESTIVAL
HONORING THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK IN LONG ISLAND, NY 

ARTISTS IN PARTNERSHIP, a non-profit cultural arts organization, will host its 13th Annual Cabaret Festival at the LONG BEACH PUBLIC LIBRARY (111 West Park Avenue, Long Beach, NY - 562-570-7500) on Wednesday through Saturday, May 13th through 17th. The festival will be a celebration of the cabaret genre honoring the Great American Songbook. PALM SPRINGS, CA: PHILLIP MOORE IN TRIBUTE TO BARRY MANILOW

Palm Springs cabaret singer Phillip Moore will bring his current show, "Barry and Me: A Tribute to Barry Manilow" to THE ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATRE at the JOSLYN CENTER(73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert, CA - TKTS: 760-325-2731) on Sunday, May 17th at 2:00 pm as part of the Sundays In Summer series presented by Les Michaels. Barry Manilow's music will be sung, and story of his rise to fame told in "Barry And Me". As the son of a preacher growing up in the South, Phillip developed a secret love of Barry's music, which inpired him to be a singer. He received a scholarship to Wallace State to study Performing Arts, then on to Southeastern Bible College to continue his vocal training. Since moving to the desert, Phillip has a weekly show at Hunter's, is a featured artist in other's shows, and lends his talents for local benefits. He recently starred in the premiere of the musical, Esperanza for Desert Ensemble Theatre. Local pianist, Joel Baker will accompany and he will be joined by feature guest singer Darci Daniels. Tickets are $11, cash only at the box office, which opens at 1:00 pm day of show.
