Carol Curtis performs at MARTINI'S ABOVE FOURTH(3940 4th Avenue, San Diego, CA - 619-400-4500) pm Saturdays from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. The musical road from Riverside, California to San Diego rambles through Nevada, Oklahoma and almost every state in between, where Carol Curtis traveled as a musician. With a degree in music education from Oklahoma State University, she inspired young minds for several years, only to return to her true calling: cabaret-style singing. Playing the audience as skillfully as she plays piano and guitar, Carol weaves an eclectic mix of torch songs, Broadway and standards into an evening of fun repartee. No cover charge.

Kate Pazakis and Bradley Bredeweg present "Romeo & Juliet: Love is a Battlefield" at ROCKWELL: TABLE & STAGE (1714 Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, CA - 323-669-1550) on Saturday & Sunday, May 23rd & 24th at 8:00 pm. At last! The world's most famous playwright meets lycra-clad '80s rock star Pat Benatar. An epic collaboration centuries in the making, Romeo + Juliet: Love Is a Battlefield features Nickelodeon star Ashley Argota as Juliet and hunky singer/actor Rustin Cole Sailors as Romeo as they belt out some of Benatar's biggest hits to tell the timeless story of Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers. A delightfully upbeat twist to the classic story, the modern adaptation will both move you to tears and make you want to move your feet at Rockwell Table & Stage in Los Feliz. There is a $20-$45 cover.

LOS ANGELES: LINDEN WADDELL WITH "HELLO AGAIN! THE SONGS OF ALLAN SHERMAN" 

Linden Waddell presents "Hello Again! The Songs Of Allan Sherman" at THE GARDENIA(7066 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA - 323-467-7444) on Saturday & Sunday, May 23rd & 24th at 9:00 pm. The show is a comedic musical romp through the brilliant parody lyrics of Allan Sherman, best known for "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh (A Letter from Camp)." Only attend if you love to laugh! Linden Waddell is accompanied by her musical director Marjorie Poe. The show is directed and choreographed by Janet Miller and produced and conceived by Linden Waddell. As a singer, Linden performs standards, musical theatre and jazz. She has produced and performed in many cabaret revues What Every Woman Wants•to Sing and Naked Women Baring Souls Through Song, as well as her own one-woman cabaret acts. Wanting a hand in all of production, Linden also produced, wrote, edited, and starred with Tim Bennett in their own comedy television show, I Really Like Skunks. She has been featured in television and film, has appeared in numerous commercials, and performs her written word at Venice's Beyond Baroque and other venues. Call for cover/minimum information.

LOS ANGELES: BILL A. JONES AT VITELLO'S

Best known as an actor ("Rod Remington" from Fox TV's Glee) Bill A. Jones will perform at VITELLO'S (4349 Tujunga Avenue, Studio City, CA - 818-769-0905) on Saturday, May 23rd at 8:00 pm. Jones is also an acclaimed singer who has opened for Tony Bennett, Steve Tyrell, The Mills Brothers, and toured with The Glenn Miller Orchestra. Southern California audiences know him from his multiple area appearances with Big Bands, and his two well received CDs, "Frankly," and "I've Heard That Song, Big Band Songbook." There is a $20-$45 cover plus a 2-item minimum.
