NYC: LAUREN STANFORD RETURNS WITH ENCORE PERFORMANCE OF "I'M A STRANGER HERE MYSELF"
2013 MetroStar winner and Kansas native, Lauren Stanford, returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, February 1st at 1:00 pm with a special encore performance of her acclaimed show "I'm a Stranger Here Myself" which she presented when she made her solo cabaret debut last summer. The show explores New York City's enduring lure through songs made popular by small town women such as Helen Morgan, Mary Martin, Julie Wilson, Peggy Lee and more. Directed by Eric Michael Gillett with Music Direction by Mike Pettry. During The MetroStar Competition, Lauren was praised for her zany humor and insight that gave special dimension to her highly polished interpretations of a variety of songs. Since the competition she has performed in the MAC award winning Amanda McBroom Project and her own solo theatre piece about singer Helen Morgan, entitled More Than You Know. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
