NYC: MAXINE LINEHAN: BEAUTIFUL SONGS - MUSIC FOR THE SOUL AND THE SENSES

Created and Directed for Maxine Linehan by Scott Siegel Beautiful Songs made its world premiere at the Metropolitan Room in October 2014 and with rave reviews, the show is back at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Wednesday, February 4th; Friday, February 6th: and Friday, February 20th, all shows at 7:00 pm. The show is an exploration of what makes a song not just pretty, but beautiful. Singing songs from a wide variety of genres from Broadway, folk, pop, and beyond, the critically acclaimed Maxine Linehan will give audiences a rare hour filled with beauty created from irresistible melodies, with elegant and incisive lyrics. Beauty, of course, is in the eyes (and the ears) of the beholder, so we invite you to come and behold Beautiful Songs. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: MARIN MAZZIE AT 54 BELOW

Three-time Tony Award Nominee Marin Mazzie will perform at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wednesday through Saturday, February 4th through 7th at 7:00 pm. She remembered for her recent show-stopping turn in Bullets Over Broadway, her corseted characters in Ragtime and Passion or maybe from the scene-chewing screwballs of Kiss Me Kate and Spamalot or possibly as the star of Next To Normal) Come see and hear the real Marin Mazzie as she steps back into her formative years with an evening of fun and fantasy as we get inside the head of a Midwest girl and the music she loved. There is a $50-$110 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: MITCHELL JARVIS CHANNELS JACQUES BREL

Mitchell Jarvis makes his solo cabaret debut at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Wednesday, February 4th at 9:30 pm with a show about a man who believes he is Jacques Brel - not a reincarnation but the man himself. Told entirely in Brel songs with surprising contemporary arrangements and actual Brel quotes woven throughout, it's an examination of Love, Death and Hope. Backed by a four-piece band, Jarvis channels Brel for a new generation - living everywhere. Jarvis originated the role of Lonny in Rock of Ages, and is co-creator and star of the web series, It Could Be Worse. He played Keith Stone, spokesperson for Keystone Light beer, and is a frequent guest with the Skivvies. There is a $30-$60 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
