NYC: CABARET CARES BENEFIT: "THE LOVELY LADIES OF CABARET"
FEATURED CABARET BENEFIT EVENT

Award Winning performer Gretchen Reinhagen hosts the Lovely Ladies of Cabaret with performances by Joanna Morton Gary, Jennylind Paris, Tracy Stark, and Broadway Star Karen Mason, on Sunday, January 25th at 7:00 pm, proceeds to benefit Cabaret Cares, at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440). Cabaret Cares is the Award Winning benefit series that benefits Help Is On The Way Today a non for profit created by cabaret producer Joseph Macchia. Cabaret Cares is a ongoing monthly series that was created to benefit Help Is On The Way Today a non for profit organization that helps children, teens and youth living with HIV and AIDS. Once a month a new show is created and can feature Broadway show casts, up and coming talent and many of the New York Cabaret Community. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: SONNY SHORES UNTUCKED ... MY EYES ARE UP HERE!

Sonny Shores brings his show "Untucked ... My Eyes Are Up Here!" to THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438)on Sunday, January 25th at 7:00 pm. The show is mind numbing musical journey which takes you from the VFW's of Levittown NY, to the Drag Rooms of Cherry Grove, Fire Island. Introducing for the very first time on a stage of his very own ... ok, a stage, Sonny Shores! There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: SO ... THIS IS WHERE I AM WITH JASON DANIEL HOOD

Singer/ Songwriter, Jason Daniel Hood, celebrates turning 40 on Sunday, January 25th at 9:30 pm, at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) with a unique, intimate show. Blending storytelling, original songs, standards, show tunes and gospel, Jason invites audiences to celebrate some of the stories and music from Act 1 of his life and join him at the beginning of Act 2. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: BRACY AND JONES PERFORM TOGETHER, AT LAST!

MARY O'S (32 Avenue A, NYC - 212-505-5610) presents Cedric Jones and Erika Bracy in their first cabaret performance together, on Thursday, January 22nd and Sunday, January 25th - all shows at 8:00 pm. The show 'Erika & Ceddy: At Last!' will feature duet and solo performances of material spanning generations and styles. The show will also feature well known pianist Jason Laney. Erika Bracy is an actor, singer and activist. She has worked as the Director of Green Initiatives/Charity Liaison at Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. Past stage performances include T.S. Elliot's Murder in the Cathedral and The Manhattan Project. Cedric Jones is an actor, singer and writer. He most recently performed at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre with Lisa Hancock in C'mon Get Happy, a benefit for Braking AIDS Ride and Housing Works. His book, We Whisper and Other Poems is now available online and at select bookstores. There is a $10 cover.

NYC: LIVEWIRE: AN EVENING OF SHORT PLAYS

Stable Cable presents the second annual LiveWire: An Evening of Short Plays at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Sunday, January 25th at 7:00 pm. They will share new works from some of your favorite playwrights. The evening will include live musical performances and a raffle for a chance to win some fabulous prizes! LiveWire box office proceeds go toward supporting our 2014-2015 season, including 2 productions at The Wild Project, a developmental workshop of a commissioned play by Ken Urban, and much more! There is a $15 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

NYC: SONDHEIM UNPLUGGED AT 54 BELOW

A celebrated New York event since 2010, the Bistro Award-winning series Sondheim Unplugged will return to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Sunday, January 25th at 7:00 pm, The event features some of Broadway and cabaret's most dynamic voices, accompanied by piano only. Expect tunes from A Little Night Music, Company, Into the Woods, Follies, Passion, Dick Tracy and more. Past special guests have included original Sondheim cast members such as Len Cariou, Victoria Mallory, Donna McKechnie & Chip Zien - so you never know who might drop in. Sondheim Unplugged is hosted by series creator Phil Geoffrey Bond, who will fill the audience in on Sondheimien facts, history & assorted tidbits of theatrical lore. Come join the party. There is a $30-$70 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: 54 BELOW PRESENTS CUTTING-EDGE COMPOSERS

Cutting-Edge Composers will present their sixth concert at 54 BELOW(254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Sunday, January 25th at 9:30 pm. Cutting-Edge Composers is a platform for new musical theatre writers featuring top Broadway performers and musicians. Cutting-Edge Composers is committed to showcasing songs by writers whose work has not yet been produced on Broadway, presented at no cost to the artists. The concert is helmed by director-producer Laura Pietropinto (assistant director of Next to Normal) and associate producer Allie Glickman, with Musical Direction by Julie McBride and Benjamin Rauhala. Stars slated to perform include Lilla Crawford (Into the Woods), Taylor Louderman (NBC's "Peter Pan Live"), Ben Fankhauser (Newsies), Ruthie Ann Miles (Here Lies Love), Nick Blaemire (Found), Lilli Cooper (Wicked), Liz McCartney (Taboo), Zach Prince (Honeymoon in Vegas), Cortney Wolfson (Kinky Boots), Zak Resnick (Mamma Mia), Kacie Sheik (Hair), Tamika Lawrence (If/Then), and Ryann Redmond (If/Then) singing songs by Paul Loesel and Scott Burkell, Alexander Sage Oyen, Drew Fornarola and Scott Elmegreen, Carmel Dean and Jenny Stafford, Georgia Stitt and Lisa Diana Shapiro, Rachel Griffin, Zack Zadek, Zoe Sarnak, Eric Dietz, Kevin Fogarty, Colleen Dauncey and Akiva Romer-Segal, Nick Luckenbaugh and Amy Molewski, Michael Patrick Walker, Eric Price and Joel Waggoner, and Lisa DeSpain and OSCAR-winner Kristen Anderson Lopez (Frozen)! After five sold-out concerts at venues throughout NYC, Cutting-Edge Composers has created a community of new musical theatre artists and supporters. They have worked to build a bridge between the Broadway community and up-and-coming writers. Successful songwriters of past concerts include Eli Bolin, Peter Lerman, Kooman and Diamond, Heisler and Goldrich, and Joe Iconis. Eli Bolin's musical Volleygirls recently had a successful run at the NY Musical Theatre Festival and won the "Audience Choice" Award! His critically-acclaimed musical Found recently premiered at the Atlantic Theater Company! Peter Lerman's musical Brooklynite will open at the Vineyard Theatre this month and will be directed by Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening). Both of these composers featured songs from these shows at our previous concerts! There is a $25=$60 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
