PITTSFIELD, MA: MR. FINN'S CABARET: ELI'S ALL-STARS: CONTEMPORARY CLASSIC JAZZ
Barrington Stage Company (BSC), under the leadership of Julianne Boyd Artistic Director and Tristan Wilson Managing Director, announces August performances at MR. FINN'S CABARET AT THE SYDELLE AND LEE BLATT PERFORMING ARTS CENTER (36 Linden Street, Pittsfield, MA - 413-236-8888). On Sunday, August 24th at 8:00 pm, the club presents ELI'S ALL-STARS: CONTEMPORARY CLASSIC JAZZ, The Wonderful World of Louis Armstrong. Banjo virtuoso Bo Winiker, vocalist Jimmy Mazzy, and the brilliant Boston Pops pianist Bob Winter join four other dynamite jazzmen to form this All-Star band. They'll bring to life delicious Armstrong rarities, side by side with the greatest jazz and pop hits, from "Black and Blue" to "Hello Dolly" and "It's a Wonderful World. There is a $35 cover.
FRAMINGHAM, MA: BACA PERFORMANCE SHOWCASE AT AMAZING THINGS
BACA (Boston Association of Cabaret Artists) presents a Member Performance Showcase at AMAZING THINGS ARTS CENTER (160 Hollis Street, Framingham, MA - 508-405-2787) on Sunday, August 24th at 6:00 pm. Performers include Elizabeth Young, Wendy Wolfberg, Lisa Hall, Teddy Edgar, and Frank Stewart with Tom LaMark on piano. The show is produced by Kevin Luey, President of Boston Association Of Cabaret Artists. There is an $10 cover ($8 for members).
TORONTO: SUNDAY CABARET WITH THE SATIN DOLLS
The Satin Dolls will perform atTHE JAZZ BISTRO (251 Victoria Street, Toronto, ONT, CA - 416-363-5299) on Sunday, August 24th at 7:00 pm. Rich vocal harmonies, exciting rhythms, sparkling personalities and just a smattering of silliness: all this and more can be found in the performances of The Satin Dolls. These four talented women: Donna Green, Ilana Waldston, Karen Bell and Liz Tansey, have combined forces and years of musical experience to pay tribute to the great jazz music of the past and lend a nostalgic sensibility to more recent musical selections. There is a $15 cover.
