NYC: BROADWAY SINGS AT THE WEST END - THURSDAYS

A New Open mic night has begun hosted by Sarah Rice & Craig Pomranz on the Upper West Side! BROADWAY SINGS AT THE WEST END will be held every Thursday night (it started on May 1st) at THE WEST END (955 West End Avenue, NYC - 212-531-4759) from 9:00 to 11:00 pm (signup after 8:30 pm). Matthew Martin Ward will be at the piano. An open mic with multi-award winning hosts Sarah and Craig bring the ultimate New York experience to the Upper West Side with all kinds of talent singing all genres of music -Broadway, Pop, Jazz, Classical, all are welcomed. There will be a drawing at the end of the evening to get to sing another song and get a free cover for the following week. There will also be a group sing of the Tonight Quintette from West Side Story. There is a $7 cover - no minimum.

Seth's weekly interview show always features stars, soon-to-be stars and folks behind the scenes of the musical theater stage - for just a $10 cover - 2-drink minimum. NYC: JOAN RIVERS: LIVE IN TIMES SQUARE! 2 SHOWS TONIGHT!

Comedy legend Joan Rivers returns with her her live stand-up act to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Thursday, July 3rd at 7:00 & 9:00 pm. Rivers presents an evening of her newest and most outrageous riffs on Hollywood, pop culture, celebrities, reality TV and award show fashions. Rivers delivers a raunchy, politically incorrect evening of stand-up comedy. A full dinner menu and bar are available, and pianist Will Hall plays from the time doors open until Joan takes the stage. April Brucker (TLC, NBC, author of I Came, I Saw, I Sang) will bring her show 'I Came, I Saw, I Sang: Show and Book Event' to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Thursday, July 3rd at 7:30 pm. It promises to be a night of songs and stories from the singing telegram trenches. Featuring burlesque by cabaret favorite Caroline Durham, stories by singing telegram master Jon Shipley, as well as other special guests.There is a $12 cover plus a 2-drink minimum. Cover includes a free copy of her book - if you already have the book, take it along and there's no cover!

NYC: ECHOES OF ETTA MOVES TO JOE'S PUB

Echoes of Etta, the award-winning Etta James Tribute, celebrates America's birthday weekend on Thursday, July 3rd at 9:30 pm at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555). Echoes of Etta was the winner of the 2014 MAC Award for Show of the Year. Starring New York soul-singer William Blake with music director Michael Thomas Murray, his band, and a trio of back-up girls (The Peaches), this energetic, no-holds-barred revue has played to multiple sold-out houses at Birdland, Joe's Pub, The Cafe Carlyle, and for the Commissioner's Tailgate at this year's Superbowl. Show your patriotism this holiday week by spending the evening with our founding fathers in this concert version of the Broadway show '1776'! 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) will wave it's flag proudly at this most beloved Broadway score when some of New York's most exciting voices proffer these uniquely American tunes. Abigail Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Martha Jefferson, John Adams - they're all descending upon the stage for what promises to be the perfect theatrical fit for the Fourth of July! Performances are Thursday & Saturday, July 3rd & 5th with shows at 7:00 & 9:30 pm. Bitching and Belting: An Evening with Michael Gioia and Friends promises to be an unforgettable night where no complaint is too small and no note is too high. Join Michael Gioia (who hosted Playbill's Contemporary Musical Theatre Songwriters You Should Know LIVE! in January) and his Broadway faves for a set list of the sassiest songs, most dangerous duets and, of course, some bad-ass bitching.
