The 54 Below WBGO Jazz Series continues, featuring weekly Tuesday evening shows by jazz artists. Just around the corner from Swing Street, these seasoned jazz performers come to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) to play and sing the night away in grand style. Whether you're a long time jazz buff or new to the genre, this series, sponsored by the country's premier jazz radio station, promises a truly classic only-in-New York experience. On Tuesday, June 18th at 7:00 & 9:00 pm, the show presents Paquito D'Rivera & The Classics.The Cuban saxophonist/clarinetist and his sextet perform revelatory and highly propulsive Pan American/Latin American arrangements of the classics by Bach, Mozart, Ernesto Lecuona, Astor Piazzolla, Debussy, Manzanero, Rachmaninoff, and many more. Paquito D'Rivera, clarinet, alto saxophone; Diego Urcola, trumpet, trombone; Alex Brown, piano; Zack Brown, bass; Eric Doob, drums Swinging Latin Jazz Arrangements of Bach, Piazzolla, Lecuona, Mozart, Beethoven, Manzanero, Bebo Valdes, and whole lots more!. There is a $25-$35 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
