The JC Hopkins Biggish Band began its life in 2000 with a residency at the famed burlesque club, The Slipper Room, with a core group of players that included Norah Jones on vocals. Since then the band drawn sell-out crowds on both coasts, playing its original brand of swing, jazz and bop. Following in the footsteps of Hoagy Carmichael and Duke Ellington, Hopkins writes deceptively simple words and melodies that speak to something deeper, and more emotionally complex, with the potential to add a page to the great American Songbook. NYC: THOUGHTS AROUND MIDNIGHT AT DON'T TELL MAMA
MEMBER DISCOUNT: $5 OFF THE COVER

Harold Sanditen will be reprising his most recent cabaret show, THOUGHTS 'ROUND MIDNIGHT, at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Friday, February 11th at 7:00 pm, after performances at DAVENPORT'S in Chicago on February 7th. He is joined by London favorite Nathan Martin on piano and Bob Renino on bass. The show is directed by Lisa Forrell. In this show he explores those innermost thoughts we can fall into late at night - loneliness, gratitude, regrets, jealousy, love, fantasies and even revenge - and it's fun, despite the somber sounding title. Harold's soulful and witty interpretation of lyrics portrays the humour, sadness and tenderness of these emotions, through the words and music of classic songs by Lennon and McCartney, Billie Holiday, Thelonious Monk, Jerome Kern, Bob Dylan, Jay Leonhart, Dorothy Fields, Stephen Sondheim and Antonio Carlos Jobim to name a few. For 20 years, Harold was a successful UK based theatre producer with productions that spanned the smallest scale fringe productions to large scale commercial ones. He produced mainly in London, but also throughout the UK, as well as in Baltimore and New York City. Working with Oscar winners to complete unknowns, he was responsible for the UK debut of many North American performers and writers. However, three years ago he decided to leave producing and concentrate on his real love - singing and cabaret. Harold's vocal style covers a wide genre from jazz and Latin to pop, ballads and show tunes. Call for cover/minimum information. There is a $5 discount off the cover for members of CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE.
