TODAY IN NYC: LAURA HULL WITH THE DIVA JAZZ TRIO ONE NIGHT ONLY AT THE METROPOLITAN
Hullarious Productions announced presents Laura Hull and the DIVA Jazz Trio at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ) on Saturday, October 2nd at 7:30 pm with an all-new show, "Broadway the Jazzway." The show will feature a program of Broadway songs set to the swinging rhythms of jazz. The DIVA Jazz Trio features leader/drummer, Sherrie Maricle, pianist Tomoko Ohno, and bassist Noriko Ueda. Ms. Hull has been described as first class vocalist with an infectious sense of swing, phrasing and style. Her music is drawn from an extensive repertoire of American popular songs, jazz standards, obscure gems, and her original compositions. Her latest release, "Supper Club," was recorded live over two performances at a supper club, and captures the essence of the all-night entertainment destinations of the past. Ms. Hull has a weekly residency at New York City's World Yacht Jazz Cruises and appears at a variety of venues across the US. She has won several songwriting awards, and is an award nominee for Best Jazz Vocalist by the Manhattan Artists and Cabarets organization. Ms. Hull also serves as president of the New Jersey Jazz Society, and is co-founder of the Songbirds Agency.
