TODAY IN NYC: NEW JAZZ VOCALIST AT THE ALGONQUIN THROUGH AUGUST
THE ALGONQUIN OAK ROOM (59 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-419-9331) presents, "Summertime", a jazz cabaret featuring young new jazz vocalist Kat Gang on Thursdays through Saturdays through August 28th at 8:30 pm. Kat Gang will sing favorites including "Summertime" by George Gershwin, "Too Darn Hot" by Cole Porter, "Somewhere" by Bernstein, "Manhattan" by Rodgers and Hart, "The Days of Wine and Roses" by Henry Mancini, and "The Summer Wind" by Mayer and Mercer. Kat Gang, international vocalist and eloquent songwriter, has a soul steeped in jazz. Her style is a mix of old and new, borrowed and blue including delightful swing and stirring ballads.
