BREAKING NEWS - PALM SPRINGS, CA: MARCIA HARP AND ALAN JON - "WHAT WE DO FOR LOVE" - MAY 8th

BREAKING NEWS - PALM SPRINGS, CA: MARCIA HARP AND ALAN JON - "WHAT WE DO FOR LOVE" - MAY 8th

The 'Sundays In Summer Cabaret Series 7th season', produced by Les Michaels, continues on Sunday, May 8th at 2:00 pm at THE ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATRE at the JOSLYN CENTER(73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert, CA - TKTS: 760-325-2731), with two local singers, Marcia Harp and Alan Jon, in a show they call "What We Do For Love". The show will feature songs from The Great American Songbook as well as the Broadway stage with accompaniment by Los Angeles pianist, Ron Snyder. Marcia Harp is an actor, singer, dancer, producer, choreographer, and voice and dance instructor. She appeared in numerous productions in Los Angles and across the nation before settling down in Palm Springs where she continues her art, most recently as 'Sweet Sue' in Palm Canyon Theatre's "Sugar". But most of you will remember her as a 'long-legged lovely' in the long-running "Fabulous Palm Springs Follies." Alan Jon is a former actor and singer who left show business to work full time as a Colorist and college instructor. He now shares his time between homes in Los Angeles and Palm Springs and has returned to his first love, singing. Alan and Marcia met at one of the cabaret open mic nights hosted by Les Michaels and became close friends. "What We Do For Love" will be their first show together and will include solos and duets of some of their favorite songs with musical direction by Ron Snyder. Tickets are $11 cash only at the box office, and doors open at 1:00 pm.
