NYC: JESSE LUTTRELL with THE FRED BARTON BROADWAY BAND AT FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) presents Jesse Luttrell with the Fred Barton Broadway Band on Friday, January 29th at 9:30 pm. Jesse Luttrell unleashes his shattering voice and theatrical, post-modern vaudevillian style on an evening of treasured swing, big band, and show songs. Jesse's repertoire runs the gamut from Jule Styne, Cy Coleman and Rodgers & Hart, to Anthony Newley, Jerry Herman specialties, and Peter Allen showstoppers. Fred Barton has created high-octane new arrangements and will lead his 8-piece Broadway Band. 54 Below favorite Seth Sikes will make a special appearance with Jesse, as they strut the stage in rare Jule Styne barn-burner that never fails to bring down the house. Luttrell hosted and starred in his critically acclaimed vaudeville/ burlesque musical revue Bawdy, running monthly in NYC from 2009 to 2015 at the STAGE 72 on West 72nd Street. For three years, he has been a featured headliner in "American Showstoppers," the acclaimed showtune concert series with the Fred Barton Orchestra at Pace University's Michael Schimmel Center, the Leon Goldstein PAC in Brooklyn, and the Maria Ciccone Theatre at Bergen College. Benefit special appearances include the annual glittering Night Of A Thousand Gowns. Jesse's first CD, with the Fred Barton Broadway Band, is featured on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, etc., and is being streamed daily to countless fans around the world. Jesse had an unusual background for a vaudevillian: he began as a precocious ballet dancer in his teens, with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and The Rock School/ Pennsylvania Ballet. He made the switch to musical theatre, and toured the country in a wide variety of shows, playing the Pharaoh in Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat, the Emcee in Cabaret, Frank-n-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show, and multiple roles in Cats, Peter Pan, and Meet Me In St. Louis. After co-instigating Forbidden Broadway in the fall of 1981, leading to its nearly 30-year run and its Tony Award, Fred Barton has had multiple careers writing long-running cabaret shows, conducting on Broadway, and writing music for television (The Magic Schoolbus). For ten years he's been a preeminent symphonic pops arranger-orchestrator, and his works are played regularly by the New York Pops at Carnegie Hall and by major symphony orchestras around the U.S. and Canada. He currently produces and hosts the American Showstoppers concert series with his 14-piece orchestra, dedicated to the Golden Age of Broadway. There is a $25-$65 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
