LONDON: THE BEST BITS OF ROULSTON AND YOUNG
THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) presents The Best Bits Of Roulston & Young on Tuesday, January 26th through Saturday, January 30th at 8:00 pm. It will be a night of scintillating musical comedy from Sarah-Louise Young and Michael Roulston as they share some of their best loved original songs to lift your New Year droop. Their comic and bitter-sweet chansons have entertained audiences around the world, including New York, Berlin and the prestigious Adelaide Cabaret Festival. They won them 'Best Musical Variety Act' in the London Cabaret Awards and they have written with Fascinating Aida and appeared on BBC Radio. 'The Best Bits' will include songs from their two previous sell-out runs at the Crazy Coqs, ('Songs For Cynics' and 'Two Faced') as well as a few new numbers hot off the press. Benoit Viellefon is proud to present his HOT CLUB, inspired by the hot swinging music that emerged from the infamous Parisian Cafes and nightclubs of the 1920s & '30s, at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL(20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888 - ) on Friday, January 29th at 10:30 pm as part of the club's Late Night Series. The HOT CLUB show celebrates the burning excitement of those sizzling gypsy swing numbers made famous by Django Reinhardt, together with the romanticism of the finest musettes and waltzes from the French tradition. With a nod to the American jazz virtuosi who visited Paris, such as Louis Armstrong and Sidney Bechet, HOT CLUB features both trumpet and clarinet alongside the timeless two-guitars and double bass lineup. The perfect mix of European finesse and the restless fervour of American swing, HOT CLUB are the modern-day embodiment of the spirit of a bygone age. Call for cover/minimum information.
