Spotlight On Productions is proud to bring Teresa Fischer aka "Lady T" and her lively comedy musical hour COMEDY ROULETTE back to DON'T TELL MAMA(343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) for three performances in October: Tuesday, October 13th at 7:00 pm; Sunday, October 18th at 7:00 pm; and Thursday, October 22nd at 7:00 pm. COMEDY ROULETTE features an all comedy song line-up including four game show segments where the audience get to choose what Lady T will sing next! The audience is enticed with clues, props and prizes! While presiding over the hilarity, second banana Frank even joins in on a song or two. And, yes, there will be puppets! Cabaret veteran Paul Chamlin is the musical director and one-man band for this fun evening. Frank Calo, Artistic Director of Spotlight On Productions directs. Lady T has taken everyone on quite a ride over the past few years with her shows DESTINATIONS AND DETOURS, HIP TO BE HAPPY and SCENE OF THE CRIME which was on Cabaret Hotline Online's Top Ten list for 2011. Her debut CD LET IT GO was released in the fall of 2012 and CHRISTMAS IS - a collaboration with Candice Corbin and Andrew David Sotomayor - was released in December 2013. Sharon McNight is Alive and Well and performing at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Tuesdays, October 6th & 13th at 9:30 pm. Musical director is Ian Herman. From standing on a stage made from beer cases in San Francisco's Castro District to her Nomination for Broadway's Tony Award, a Theater World Award Winner, MAC Winner Sharon's shows feature her celebrated humor and eclectic song choice. NYC: CLUB GELBE STERN PERFORMS AT THE BEECHMAN
After a sell out season at NYMF 2014, Club Gelbe Stern brings her show to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE(407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Tuesdays, October 13th & 20th at 7:00 pm. The show tells the story of Erika Stern, a fictional Jewish chanteuse living and performing in Berlin as the Nazis begin their rise to power. Erika is provocative, sassy, feisty and above all determined to give a magnificent performance to her loyal audience. Using German, British and American cabaret music from the 1920's and 30's, Club Gelbe Stern offers audiences a glimpse of what it may have been like for Jewish performers in the final days of the Weimar Republic. There is a $25 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.
NYC: JAZZ LEGEND ANNIE ROSS TUESDAYS THE METROPOLITAN ROOM
Jazz legend Annie Ross continues her unprecedented, record-breaking, multi-year run at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440), every Tuesday night at 9:30 pm. Ms. Ross has been an abundant contributor to the art of jazz for over 50 years. Born in the UK, she has been a permanent resident of the USA for many years and a US citizen since 2001. Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of "Twisted", one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as "Farmers Market", "Jackie" and many others. A founding member of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, considered the greatest jazz vocal ensemble of all time, her influence is present in all subsequent practitioners of vocalese. "Twisted" has been recorded by a host of vocalists, including some not normally associated with jazz, including Joni Mitchell and Bette Midler. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
NYC: TOVAH FELDSHUH - AGING IS OPTIONAL
Tovah Feldshuh, acclaimed Broadway, film, and television star (currently on "The Walking Dead" as Deanna Monroe) returns to FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Sunday, October 11th at 7:00 pm with her acclaimed show 'Aging Is Optional'. Additional performances are scheduled for Tuesday, October 13th ayd Saturday, October 17th - both at 7:00 pm, and Sunday, October 18th at 3:00 pm. On the New York stage, besides earning four Tony nominations for Best Actress, Ms. Feldshuh won four Drama Desk Awards, four Outer Critics Circle Awards, the Obie, the Theatre World Award, and the Lucille Lortel Award for Best Actress, in Golda's Balcony. On the West Coast she received the San Diego's Theatre Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Performance in a Touring Show for Golda's Balcony as well and two Drama Logue awards for her Juliet and her first one woman show: Tovah: A Rush Hour Revue! This season, Washington DC awarded her the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Performance, and honored her with a visit to the White House to meet the President and First Lady. Most recently, Tovah stopped the show as the trapeze-swinging Berthe in the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of Pippin. The season before, she played Lady Politic in the acclaimed revival of Ben Jonson's Volpone at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. There is a $55-$110 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
NYC: GABRIELLE STRAVELLI AT FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW IN OCTOBER
Internationally acclaimed pop/ jazz vocalist Gabrielle Stravelli comes to FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) with a brand new show for three performances in October - Tuesdays, the 6th, 13th & 20th - all shows at 9:30 pm. Ms. Stravelli combines the soulful sensitivity of a vintage song stylist with a distinctly modern sensibility. Known for an intimate and unguarded connection with her audiences, Stravelli has gained a loyal following through tours with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, appearances at the 92nd St Y and at 54 Below in Sondheim Unplugged, 54 Sings Joni Mitchell, and 54 Sings Billy Joel. Gabrielle Stravelli's enthralling new show, her second collaboration with nightlife legend Marilyn Maye, will include tracks from her new release, Now I Know. Featuring her fearless and fresh takes on material both classic and new, this fast-paced evening will cover everything from well-loved standards like "Dream Dancing" and "Autumn Nocturne" to re-imagined pop hits such as Stevie Wonder's "You and I" to Stravelli's original compositions inspired by latin, jazz, R&B, swing and bebop. Ms. Stravelli will enthrall you with her exciting vocal chops, rhythmic dexterity and distinctively modern sensibility. There is a $30-$70 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
