SAN DIEGO: A DIVINE EVENING WITH CHARLES BUSCH AT MARTINI'S ABOVE FOURTH
Diversionary Theatre and MARTINI'S ABOVE FOURTH (3940 4th Avenue, San Diego, CA - 619-400-4500) present the inimitable Charles Busch in an all-new show on Tuesday, October 13th at 8:00 pm. The two-time MAC Award winner, Tony nominee, and gender illusionist brings an eclectic program of contemporary and classic songs. Accompanied by his longtime musical director, Tom Judson, Charles combines hilarious personal reminiscences, character sketches and superb storytelling through song into one glittering and glamorous evening in cabaret. There is a $25-$35 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.
LOS ANGELES, CA: RIFFERS ROCK ROCKWELL STARRING NATALIE WEISS
Natalie Weiss is stoked to return to ROCKWELL: TABLE & STAGE (1714 Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, CA - 323-669-1550) on Tuesday, October 13th at 8:00 pm. With Will Yanez on guitar, Natalie will perform a stripped down set where she will sing classic mashups, deliver hilarious banter, and maybe even break down a few riffs. Her special guests for the show include Shoshana Bean (Beaches, Wicked, Godspell). Luke Edgemon (The Voice, Glee), India Carney (The Voice) and John Pinto Jr. (Book of Mormon). Natalie Weiss recently completed a run as Penny in Saturday Night Fever at the Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival. Last fall, she went on a 6-city European solo concert & teaching tour stopping in London, Edinburgh, Barcelona, Vienna, Warsaw, and Cork. In August 2013, she completed a 2 1/2 year run swinging the national tour of Les Miserables. Back In 2010, she made her Broadway debut understudying the Menonettes in Everyday Rapture, starring Sherie Rene Scott. She also performed in the ensemble and understudied Elphaba in the 2nd national tour of Wicked. Natalie was an American Idol season 4 semi-finalist, has performed the National Anthem at Cowboys & Shea Stadium, but is most well known for her Youtube videos. She has gained an international following from her performance videos & popular web series, Breaking Down The Riffs, which have collectively reached over 3 million views.
