NYC: GONE TOO SOON - A MADELINE KAHN TRIBUTE

William V. Madison, author of Madeline Kahn: Being the Music, A Life (University Press of Mississippi, 2015), will host a musical tribute to the late singing actress as part of the series, produced by Joseph Macchia, at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM(34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Saturday, September 12th at 4:00 pm. Following the performance, Madison will sign copies of his book. Directed by Peter Napolitano, "The Music of Madeline Kahn" will feature several friends and colleagues of the comic legend, including her co-stars from Richard Rodgers'Two by Two, Walter Willison and Joan Copeland. They'll be joined by performers from theater, cabaret, and opera who have been inspired by Kahn, including Ann Harada of Avenue Q and Smash. Jeff Cubeta is music director. This is the final installment of the series for 2015. Scheduled to perform are Ann Harada, Walter Willison, Joan Copeland, Adam Shapiro, Michael Cohen, Janice Hall, Sarah Rice, Rosa Bettancourt, Hanna Burke, Lawrence Leritz, and Minda Larsen. As with all live entertainment events, cast subject to change without notice. There is a $22.50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: JUDY & LIZA AT DON'T TELL MAMA!

Now in it's 5th Year, "Judy and Liza Together Again", starring internationally acclaimed entertainers Rick Skye and Tommy Femia, named "Best Duo" in 2012 by MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets), has been Extended Again at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) with the next performance scheduled for Saturday, September 12th at 8:00 pm. Musical Director: Ricky Ritzel (as Mort/Pappy). Teaming up for an evening of "Just POW!", these MAC and Bistro Award winning performers pull out all the stops, singing classic solo's, parodies, duets and just plain whooping and hollering by the greatest mother/daughter team in show biz history. Tommy Femia is a 7 time winner of the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC) Award for his brilliant portrayal of Judy Garland in "Judy Garland LIVE!", now in it's 20th season at Don't Tell Mama. He has also starred in "Whoop-de-doo", "I Will Come Back" and, most recently, "Norma Does Men". Rick Skye is a multi award winning performer, who has written a string of outrageous comic revues including "The Flip Side of Neil Sedaka" (Bistro Award winning performance), "MaCabaret - a tabloid fable", "The War of the Mama Roses", "It's Madame with an E" (performed with his indefatigable co-star - the one and only Madame), "Barbra and Liza LIVE!" (Leicester Theater and Dublin Theatre Festival) and the International hit - "A Slice O' Minnelli" (MAC Award - Best Impersonation) which has enjoyed successful season's in Covent Garden, at the Apollo Theatre in London's West End and at the Dublin Theatre Festival where he received the Award for "Best Achievement in Performance". "Judy and Liza Together Again" premiered at The Rising Action Theater in Ft. Lauderdale to great acclaim and has since toured the Richmond Triangle Theater, Actors Theater of Minnesota, The Palace Theater in Danbury, Connecticut and Martini's Over Eighth in San Diego. PORT JEFFERSON, NY: TRUE STORIES-WITH A TWIST-AND ORIGINAL SONGS IN UNIQUE LIVE LONG ISLAND SHOW

Comedy, heart and authenticity are onstage with 4 creative storytellers telling a compelling personal story in the Saturday, September 12th performance of (mostly) TRUE THINGS, at THE PERFORMING ARTS STUDIO (224 East Main Street, Port Jefferson, NY - RESV: 631-366-4265) at 7:00 pm. "(mostly) TRUE THINGS" features true stories - with a twist - told live, without notes. In this unique show all the stories except one include carefully-crafted deceptions. The whole truth about each of the stories comes out by the end of the show, with the help of the audience. Host and creator Jude Treder-Wolff is a writer/ performer and singer/ songwriter and cabaret artist who has performed at cabaret and comedy clubs in New York and around the country. With musical director Wells Hanley she co-wrote the lyrics and music for the songs used to set up every stage of the game in (mostly) TRUE THINGS. Her solo storytelling show - with all original songs - "Crazytown: my first psychopath" was selected for the 2013 Midtown International Theater Festival, the 2012 Chicago and San Francisco Fringe Festivals and was performed at Actors Theatre Workshop, Broadway Comedy Club and The Pit - The Peoples Improv in New York, at the Charles B. Wang Center at Stonybrook University on Long Island and The Conservatory NJ in Trenton, NJ.
