NYC: JOSEPHA GAYER - RENAISSANCE: NOTES FROM ITALY

American opera star, Josepha Gayer, will present "Renaissance: Notes from Italy" at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ) on Monday, December 15th at 7:00 pm. Josepha, accompanied by her daughter Robin (arm-in-arm and heart-to-heart), took in all the sights of majestic Italy; from the shops of Milan to the restaurants of Capri, from the canals of Venice to the fountains of Rome. They drove through the Italian countryside, ate pizza in a piazza, walked the halls of the legendary Teatro alla Scala and together they viewed the works of the Masters; Michelangelo's breathtaking David and Leonardo DaVinci's masterpiece, The Last Supper - and more! In her show RENAISSANCE: Notes from Italy, Josepha will relate charming stories of family, wistful thoughts of home & love, lovely music, life - and, of course, gorgeous songs that came to mind along this journey. There is a $22.50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: GONE TOO SOON: WHITNEY HOUSTON TRIBUTE
Award Winning Cabaret Producer Joseph Macchia brings his new series "Gone Too Soon", a tribute to singers who have left us far too early, to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ). For the first show of the series, on Monday, December 15th at 9:30 pm, some of the best singers in New York City will pay tribute to Whitney Houston. Featuring songs from her early days, hit movies and some from her final Album. Performing scheduled to appear include Beau Howard, Chrysten Peddie, Will Perez, Jason W. McCollum, Shana Malone, Michael Lewis Mejia, Christopher Anthony Henry. Musical director is Yaz. There is a $22.50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: CABARET CARES HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA BENEFIT

Cabaret Cares will hold it's annual Holiday Extravaganza Benefit at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909 - ) on Monday, December 15th at 6:30 pm. This evening will celebrate the holiday season and conclude the 2014 season of the award winning series Cabaret Cares. It will be hosted by Patrick Fratellone and Rick Byrd. Cabaret Cares benefits Help Is On the Way Today a non for profit organization that helps and assists children living with HIV and AIDS in New York. The evening will include performances by Cory Daye, John Kouri, Patrick Fratellone, Larry Lozier, Michael Lewis Mejia, George Young, Dave August, Andrew Cheng, Adrian Bailey. Musical Direction by Ricky Ritzel. There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

NYC: RIGHT NOW: A SONG CYCLE WITH BRIANA LYNN WOLF

Up-and-coming composer Briana Lynn Wolf returns to THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909 - ) on Monday, December 15th at 9:30 pm with an evening of songs to raise money for Bring Change 2 Mind, a national anti-stigma organization aimed at removing misconceptions about mental illness founded by actress Glenn Close. "Right Now: A Song Cycle" features a cast of Broadway and off-Broadway performers under the direction of Jenny Leon, produced by Sammy Lopez. There is a $20 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

NYC: BEN RIMALOWER DEBUTS NEW PLAY "BAD WITH MONEY" 

Ben Rimalower debuts new play "Bad With Money" at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE(61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) running on Mondays at 7:00 pm through December 29th and Thursdays at 9:30 pm through December 18th. Ben Rimalower's addiction to spending beyond his means has driven him to extreme lengths all his life. In BAD WITH MONEY he charts his sometimes hilarious, sometimes harrowing struggle to overcome his problem - or get rich trying. "Bad With Money" is written and performed by Ben Rimalower and directed by Aaron Mark. Rimalower's first solo show, the long-running hit Patti Issues, explored his obsession with Broadway diva Patti LuPone and his relationship with his troubled gay father. Bad with Money delves into even deeper personal territory with the story of his struggle with debt - a journey that takes him through drug addiction, prostitution, fraud and multiple betrayals. There is a $25-$50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: JOHN HUME AND FRIENDS: CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD!

John Hume And Friends present "Christmas Around The World!" at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438 - ) on Monday, December 15th at 9:30 pm. It's the night before Christmas and John has inadvertently ruined the holiday for the world by stealing the Baby Jesus from St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. Can he and his friends race around the globe in one night (singing all the way!) and save Christmas by bringing the Baby home? There's only one way to find out! There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: LAURA OSNES SINGS MAURY YESTON: FEATURING THE DECEMBER SONGS

54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551 - ) welcomes Tony nominee Laura Osnes to their stage in a special evening of music all penned by the incomparable Maury Yeston, the composer of Broadway's Nine, Titanic & Grand Hotel on Monday, December 15th at 9:30 pm. Having been plucked from obscurity to star in NBC TV's "You're the One That I Want," Laura has gone on to take The Great White Way by storm with leading roles in South Pacific, Anything Goes and Bonnie and Clyde. This December, she'll start rehearsals for the brand new Broadway-bound production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella in the title role. For six special performances only, Laura will place her stamp on the Yeston songbook, including the acclaimed song cycle, The December Songs. There is a $35-$45 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: ANNALEIGH ASHFORD - LOST IN THE STARS

Annaleigh Ashford and Music Director Will Van Dyke return to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) with an updated version of their sold out concert, Lost in the Stars. Performances are scheduled for Monday, December 15th at 9:30 pm and Friday, December 26th at 11:30 pm. Annaleigh is currently playing Essie in You Can't Take It With You on Broadway. She known for her Tony-nominated turn as feisty factory worker Lauren in Kinky Boots and as Betty DiMello on Showtime's Masters of Sex as well as her work in Rent (Maureen), Dogfight (Marcy), Wicked (Glinda), and Legally Blonde (Margot). Annaleigh's show will acknowledge the history of Studio 54 with a classic cabaret that features songs from the days of disco to the haunting melodies of Kurt Weill and Stephen Sondheim. With story and song, the evening will have a touch of fun with a whole lot of heart. There is a $35-$85 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: DINE & DANCE WITH VINCE GIORDANO AND THE NIGHTHAWKS - NOW AT THE IGUANA

Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks are back - and now will play every Monday & Tuesday night from 8:00 to 11:00 pm at at IGUANA'S VIP LOUNGE (240 West 54th Street, NYC - 212-765-5454). Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks is an eleven-piece band playing music of the 1920s & 30s for your dining and dancing pleasure. In 1976 Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks (originally known as the New Orleans Nighthawks) was formed. A big-band historian and collector, Giordano has more than 60,000 scores in his collection. There is a $15 cover (at the door) plus a $15 food drink minimum.
