NYC: BABY JANE DEXTER: STILL BAD, STILL BLUE
Baby Jane Dexter's brand new show, Still Bad, Still Blue debuts at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) for eight performances only, beginning Friday, November 25th and running on consecutive Fridays & Saturdays through December 23rd (performance on December 17th is at 9:30 pm). Sharing the stage will be her respected musical partner Ross Patterson. Elissa Patterson serves as artistic consultant. Still Bad, Still Blue is another powerful, inspiring and light-hearted potpourri of unique songs and arrangements given Ms. Dexter's one of a kind haunting spin. The show features an eclectic song list including gems by the likes of Jimmy McHugh & Dorothy Fields, Abbey Lincoln, Clyde Otis, Bessie Smith, Irma Thomas, Stephen Sondheim - and many more. This new show will contain some potent musical moments along with her trademark blend of profound and artistically whimsical bon mots. Critics and peers have honored her through the years and she has received six major MAC Awards, two Nightlife Awards and two Back Stage Bistro Awards. A veteran of legendary clubs like Reno Sweeney and The Ballroom, Ms. Dexter has performed at all the major New York venues and throughout the country over the years. As always, Baby Jane challenges as much as she inspires. That is the hallmark that has sustained her extraordinary night club career. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
