NYC: KELLEY SUTTENFIELD: MONDAYS WITH THE MASTERS
Kelley Suttenfield's Mondays With The Masters Debuts on Monday, September 19th at 7:00 pm at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM(34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440). Kelley is accompanied by guitarist Vic Juris and bassist Matt Aronoff. This is the second of four consecutive Monday evening performances featuring Suttenfield with a different guitarist, each a master of his craft each week. New York based with Southern roots, Kelley Suttenfield is known internationally for her unusual spin on American music, the Beatles, Brazilian and beyond. Vic Juris (10/3) has traveled far and wide with the likes of Jimmy Smith, Sarah Vaughan, Chico Hamilton, Dave Liebman, Richie Cole and Mel Torme, to name only a few greats; and Howard Alden (10/10) has been described in the jazz press as "maybe the best of his generation". Bassist Matt Aronoff, whose credits include gigs with Luciana Souza at the Kennedy Center and Birdland with Peter Eldridge, joins every Monday. There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
