L.A.: ANDREWS SISTERS TRIBUTE COMES TO JOSLYN CENTER
On Sunday, October 2nd at 2:00 pm, "Swing Dames" joins the long list of concerts presented by Les Michaels and Life Is A Cabaret at THE ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATRE at the JOSLYN CENTER THEATRE (73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert, CA - TKTS: 760-325-2731). The show pays tribute to the legendary Andrews Sisters and features songs, costumes, and stories from their career and the state of our Nation during their popularity, especially during WWII. Rather than take on the roles of Patty, Maxine, and Lavern, "Swing Dames" created their own group made up of 'Penny', played by Megan Johnson Briones, 'Marlene', played by Erin Bennett, and 'Lorraine', played by Gail Bianchi. The show's storyline includes songs made famous by The Andrews Sisters along with many favorites from the era by other artists as well. To complement the show's swinging choreography, Penny, Marlene, and Lorraine, will be joined by and musical director Andrew Van Vlear. There is a $10 cover.
