SF: KIM NALLEY SINGS NINA SIMONE AT THE RRAZZ THROUGH JULY 17th
Kim Nalley brings her tribute show to Nina Simone to RRAZZ ROOM at THE HOTEL NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-394-1189) for a five week residency opening on Tuesday, June 14th at 8:00 pm, and then running Wednesday through Sunday, June 15th through July 17th at 8:00 pm (7:00 pm on Sundays). Awarded as one of the "Most Influential African Americans in the Bay Area," Kim Nalley has also distinguished herself internationally with a beguiling combination of sass, soul and smarts. This award-winning tribute, a mix of history, multimedia and song, was first performed by Ms. Nalley weeks after Nina Simone's death, recorded live and turned into a riveting album "She Put A Spell On Me: Kim Nalley sings Nina Simone," which was short listed for a 2006 Grammy Award. There is a $35-$37.50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
