NYC: ERIC MICHAEL GILLETT BRINGS "WIDESCREEN' TO FEINSTEIN'S

Eric Michael Gillett returns to FEINSTEIN'S at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-339-4095 on Tuesday through Saturday, February 15th through 19th with "WIDESCREEN: Songs From & About the Movies", an evening of music for anyone who has ever stumbled into a darkened movie house to escape the tumult of everyday life. He is joined by Jeff Cubeta, Musical Director, with Tom Hubbard, Bass (Tues-Thurs) & Matt Wigton, Bass (Fri/Sat) (Jeff Cubeta & Don Rebic, Arrangers). WIDESCREEN uses the silver screen as a jumping off point, borrowing songs written specifically for motion pictures ("Theme from Valley of the Dolls," "Moon River," "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?") and marrying them to music from theater ("If the World Were Like the Movies") and contemporary pop ("Widescreen," "Erroll Flynn") to explore the world of the movies and the fantasies, illusions, and lies that fill our lives. Also featured are "I See the Light," 2011 Academy Award nominated song from the motion picture TANGLED, and Craig Carnelia's ode to the joys of late-night channel surfing, "Old Movies." There is a $40-$60 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.
