NYC: WHAT CHRISTMAS TIME MEANS TO ME WITH SUZANNE CARRICO
Suzanne Carrico, winner of the 2008 MAC Award for Best Female Debut for THE ART OF THE CAHN, Music from the Sammy Cahn Songbook, will celebrate the Christmas season & her new holiday CD, WHAT CHRISTMAS TIME MEANS TO ME, at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440), opening on Thursday, December 2nd at 9:30 pm (Champagne reception to follow). Additional shows are Thursdays, December 9th at 9:30 pm, and Thursdays, December 16th & 23rd at 7:00 pm. She will also host two shows geared for children on Sunday, December 12th & Saturday, December 18th, both at 1:00 pm, for which she will serve hot chocolate & homemade (by Suzanne!) Christmas cookies. The six-show run will be Carrico's CD release party with full band. She will be joined by The Don Rebic Quartet, Dan Gross on percussion, Jim DiMatteo on bass & Windham Hill recording artist, Sean Harkness on guitar. Also joining her will be MAC Nominee Booth Daniels. On the CD are tunes ranging from the popular ("Silver Bells," "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm" by Irving Berlin & "Baby It's Cold Outside/Let It Snow" by the wonderful Frank Loesser, Jule Styne & Sammy Cahn) to the spiritual ("What Child is This," "Little Drummer Boy," "Do You Hear What I Hear" & "Gesu Bambino") to an original tune by Musical Director Don Rebic, "Merry Christmas to Us All." There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum. ($20 cover for children's events).
