Scobar Entertainment presents The Russ Spiegel Jazz Orchestra on Tuesday, September 7th, with performances at 8:00 & 10:00 pm at IRIDIUM JAZZ CLUB(1650 Broadway, NYC - 212-582-2121 - ). Russ Spiegel is a jazz guitarist, composer and arranger. Born and raised in California, he moved to Europe as a teenager. After a stint studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston he returned to Europe and quickly established himself as an in-demand musician touring the continent with various ensembles, performing at well-known jazz festivals, and appearing on numerous television and radio shows. Russ returned to the US in 2001, settling in New York City where his music career continued to flourish. Most recently, he has been very busy performing with various groups in support of his numerous CDs. His most ambitious project, The Russ Spiegel Jazz Orchestra, a 17-piece ensemble featuring Russ's compositions and arrangements, will be releasing its first CD, "Transplants," worldwide in early 2009. Russ is also a commissioned composer who has written music for film and musicals, and has spent the last four years working as the on-set music instructor for the hit Nickelodeon TV show, "The Naked Brothers Band."
