We're having a heat wave. A tropical heat wave. There temperature's rising and so it isn't surprising that I'm staying indoors as much as possible today. I have a few grocery items I need but will try to get by until Wednesday, when they promise cooler weather.
I have so much news to tell, I don't know where to start! I try to include all press releases received (that are complete and cabaret related) in these newsletters, and in the past have filled in with items I pick up from google & yahoo groups, but today's issue we're only going to be able to fit the ones sent in directly - and probably will continue that practice in the future.
Please, if you wish to be included, send in your press release directly tostuhamstra@svhamstra.com, and remember, a flier and/or a website link is not a press release. Please use txt format for your release, not .doc, .html or .pdf if possible. These other formants require me to convert them to txt, and in the process something might be lost. And, with our new format, I need releases at least 2 weeks before event date to assure publication. We only print our major listings in the MONDAY issue - the Thursday WEEKEND issue only includes shows advertised on the website and those occurring over the weekend through Monday that feature special guests not announced in the Monday issue.
I also received a bunch of ticket reservations over the weekend for our CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE 20th ANNIVERSARY GALA at the LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATER on Tuesday, July 13th at 7:00 pm. (details below including the announcement of 2 additional performers) and I need to update my records so that we can stop taking ticket orders before we're oversold. Plus we added an additional sponsor, and one current sponsor is contemplating upgrading to a double sponsorship. Thanks to everyone for helping make this event successful.
Nestled among the announcements below is news of a special Home-Page Side-Bar sale for today only. Read the terms carefully but in essence it is 10 for the price of 5 - great for promoting your CD or a weekly cabaret event. Space limited - must be ordered and paid for today.

And the normal Monday CABARET HOTLINE ONLINE will be published on Tuesday, July 6th, which also happens to be my 71st birthday. I simply might not feel like working very that hard that day, so expect a short issue. Stay tuned.
