NYC: KARA JOHNSTAD SINGS MICHEL LEGRAND
Direct from Berlin, Kara Johnstad sings a wonderful array of Michel Legrand's greatest hits in the New York debut of her show, Le Grand Love, at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440). Kara will appear for two nights only, on Friday & Saturday, April 9th & 10th, both shows at 9:45 pm. Kara will perform her acclaimed versions of The Summer Knows, Papa Can You Hear Me, Windmills of Your Mind and other rarely heard titles suggested by Legrand personally for her. Backed by international musicians, Rolf Zielke on piano (Charlie Mariano, Thomas Quasthoff); Stephan Braun on cello (Jazz Blues Award, Berliner Ensemble) and Rhani Krija (Sting, Herbie Hancock) on percussion. These exceptional musicians bring a fresh approach to Legrand's timeless classics. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
