CHI: LAURA FREEMAN SINGS JULIE ANDREWS AT DAVENPORT'S
Laura Freeman presents her new cabaret show, "The Hills Are Alive With The Sound of Julie" to DAVENPORT'S (1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830) on Fridays in April, the 9th, 16th 23rd & 30th at 8:00 pm. Laura will be doling out a spoonful of sugar along with many favorite Julie tunes. Laura and her musical director Beckie Menzie previously created Sentimental Journey: The Music of Doris Day, so Ms. Andrews seemed like the next logical performer to honor with a tribute show. Laura plans to share stories about the actress' amazing career in vaudeville, Broadway and film in between singing some of her most beloved songs, including "I Could Have Danced All Night" (My Fair Lady), "A Spoonful of Sugar" (Mary Poppins), "Le Jazz Hot" (Victor/Victoria) and, of course, "The Sound of Music". There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
