LONDON: JOANNA STRAND AND FRIENDS AT THE CRAZY COQS

Jazz vocalist and West End actress Joanna Strand will host a series of shows at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) on Tuesday through Thursday, June 2nd through 4th at 8:00 pm. Strand holds numerous West End and touring credits including Emma in Jekyll and Hyde, Sharon Graham in Master Class, Madame Giry in Phantom of the Opera and lead woman in Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris. On Thursday, June 4th, Strand invites award winning bass - baritone Rodney Earl Clarke [Porgy and Bess, On the Town] to perform songs and duets by Gershwin, Porter, Cy Coleman, Rogers and Hammerstein and Bernstein. Strand and Clarke met as students at the Royal Academy of Music and tonight promises to be a musical extravaganza as they join forces again for the first time in 20 years. With John Bailey (piano), Nick Pini (double bass) and Jason Reeve on drums. Call for cover/minimum information.

LONDON: OPEN MIC NIGHT AT THE CRAZY COQS 

Harold Sanditen, jazz-cabaret singer and veteran theatre producer, is host of Open Mic Night at THE CRAZY COQS AT BRASSERIE ZEDEL (20 Sherwood St, Piccadilly, London W1F 7ED - 020 7734 4888) every Thursday at 10:30 pm, ably supported by regular musicians Michael Roulston on piano and Jonty Fisher on bass. It is always an entertaining evening full of fun and surprise. Aimed at both the jazz and theatrical communities, The Crazy Coqs Open Mic Night welcomes all singers, composers and musicians, up & coming and established, who want to do a turn, performing new material or old favourites. For the audience, come and catch that proverbial 'rising star' (or possibly a famous West End name) in the intimate, "jewel-box" surroundings of The Crazy Coqs. Call for cover/minimum information.

LONDON: FASCINATING AIDA'S DILLIE KEANE IN CABARET

Dillie Keane takes a short break from her Fascinating Aida gal pals to present her first solo show in 557 years at THE PHEASANTRY(152-154 King's Road, London SW3 4UT - 08456 027 017) on Tuesday through Sunday, June 2nd through 7th at 8:30 pm. With some brand new songs, some grand old favourites, gorgeous songs of love and songs of disgraceful filth, Dillie will break your heart, mend it again and have it sent to the cleaners for pressing. And she'll give you her recipe for chutney while she's at it. Dillie will be accompanied on the piano by the very young but very talented Sam Cable. Call for cover/minimum information.
