SAN FRANCISCO: SEX AND THE CITY LIVE AT THE OASIS
From the creators who brought you the stage adaptations of such shows as Roseanne and Designing Women, and now the owners of San Francisco's newest drag theater / cabaret, OASIS (298 11th Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-795-3180), comes the newest installments of Sex and the City Live! - with some of your favorite moments of the ground-breaking series. Each performance will feature two episodes based on the iconographic TV show that ran on HBO from 1998 - 2004 (now in syndication). So put on your party clothes, grab your besties and head down to the Oasis every Thursday through Saturday through July 3rd, where the cosmopolitans will be as plentiful as the laughs in this uproarious drag send up. Sex And The City: LIVE! features Sue Casa (Carrie Bradshaw) (Ms. Star Search 2013) D'Arcy Drollinger (Samantha Jones) (Shit & Champagne), Lady Bear (Miranda Hobbs) (Bear-Barella) and Daft-nee Gesuntheit (Charlotte York) . Costumes by Tria. The show is directed by D'Arcy Drollinger. The "girls" are four young professional women in search of the perfect relationship and, of course, the perfect orgasm. Each episode features multiple storylines that tackled relevant and modern social issues including sexuality, sexually transmitted diseases, safe sex, promiscuity, femininity and of course shoes - while exploring the difference between friendships and relationships. Sex and the City the original HBO series received both acclaim and criticism for its subjects and characters, and spawned two feature films, Sex and the City (2008) and its sequel Sex and the City 2 (2010). It also won seven of its 54 Emmy Award nominations, eight of its 24 Golden Globe Award nominations, and three of its 11 Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Sex and the City still airs in syndication worldwide and has been listed on Entertainment Weekly's end-of-the-decade "best of" list and as one of Time magazine's 100 Best TV Shows of All-TIME. Tony Award-winning actress, Faith Prince, will bring her acclaimed show, Have a Little Faith, to FEINSTEIN'S AT THE NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 866-663-1063) for two performances only: Friday, June 19th at 8:00 pm and Saturday, June 20th at 7:00 pm. Have a Little Faith features a "smorgasbord" of Faith Prince: past, present and future. From her memorable Broadway triumphs to tales and songs from her early Off-Broadway gems to her latest Broadway roles, the evening sparkles with doses of Faith's quirky trademark humor as well as touching moments filled with pathos. As hostess of this musical evening, Faith Prince guarantees that the best is yet to come! Faith Prince has been dazzling Broadway audiences since winning the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as "Ms. Adelaide" in Guys and Dolls. As one of Broadway's best loved leading ladies, Faith most recently starred in a role she was born to play - the scheming, irascible "Miss Hannigan" in the revival of Annie on Broadway. In 2008, she was nominated for Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for A Catered Affair. Other Broadway credits include The Little Mermaid, Bells Are Ringing (Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle nominations), Nick & Nora (Outer Critics Circle Award), Jerome Robbins' Broadway (Tony, Drama Desh nominations), Little Me, The Dead, and Noises Off. She also starred in the world premiere of Terrence McNally's Unusual Acts of Devotion and in the national tour of the Broadway hit Billy Elliott. Chicago audiences had the opportunity to see Faith on stage in the iconic role of "Brenda" in the new musical version of the hit movie First Wives Club which is headed to Broadway later this year. Faith currently recurs on ABC Family's "Melissa & Joey" and just wrapped her 5-season run as Brooke Elliott's mother on Lifetime's hit series "Drop Dead Diva." She was a series regular on Showtime's "Huff" starring as "Kelly Knippers, "the love interest of Oliver Platt, and recurred for five seasons on "Spin City." Faith just wrapped an Australian concert tour with her Annie co- star Anthony Warlow, which included performances at the Sydney Opera House and the Adelaide Festival. She works often with the Boston Pops, Utah Symphony, Cincinnati Pops, and Philly Pops, and starred in the Orlando Philharmonic's concert version of Sweeney Todd. Faith toured her show Moving On in Australia to rave reviews, and also toured in Over the Rainbow, a concert celebrating the centennial of Harold Arlen. Faith's new album, "Total Faith," was recorded at the Royal Room in the Colony Hotel in Palm Beach and was recently released by Broadway Records.
