NYC: QUARTER 2 FOUR AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM

The new jazz-pop-show quartet "Quarter 2 Four" (Q2IV) will perform at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Sunday, June 14th at 4:00 pm. "Quarter 2 Four" features the vocal talents of Liz McKendry, Jody Mullen, Erika Banks and songwriter Rick Knight will present their premiere set of original jazz, pop and show tunes. Featuring Pianist and Musical Director David Shenton, Matt Aranoff on Bass and Brian Woodruff on Drums. There is a $22.50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: THE METROPOLITAN ROOM CELEBRATES MUSICAL DIRECTORS

THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) present "Bravo Musical Directors" on Sunday, June 14th at 6:00 pm. They have compiled a list of Musical Directors that have worked at Metropolitan Room and other Cabaret venues around NYC and will be taking this opportunity to thank them. Some will speak, some will play, some will just attend. It will be a symphony orchestra of music directors. They are the Svengalis, the coaches, and enablers of all the stars in the cabaret firmament. And for one night only an unprecedented collection of maestros will take center stage in a love-fest we feel is long overdue. Bernie Furshpan will host the evening. Though the lion's share of these musicians play piano, many serve as music directors playing other instruments. Nearly all write their own arrangements. A list of those that have committed to attending as well as those that have been invited and attendance insludes: Andy Kahn, Assaf Gleizner, Barry Levitt, Billy Stritch, Bill Zeffiro, Bryon Sommers, David Alpher, David Budway, David Lewis, David Shenton, Don Rebic, Frank Ponzio, Ian Herman, James Followell, Jeff Cubeta, Jeff Franzel, Jeffrey Klitz, John McMahon, Jon Delfin, Kathleen Landis, Mark Janas, Matt Baker, Michael McAssey, Nate Buccieri, Paul Chamlin, Paul Greenwood, Peter Calo, Phil Hinton, Rick Jensen, Ricky Ritzel, Ron Abel, Russ Kassoff, Sean Harkness, Steve Ross, Tedd Firth, Tex Arnold, Tracy Stark, and Yasukiho Fukuoka. NYC: SINGER/ SONGWRITER SINEM SANIYE AT THE MET

Sinem Saniye, a talented Pop/Jazz songwriter, singer, and guitar player, performs at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ) on Sunday, June 14th at 9:30 pm. Born in Germany with Turkish family roots, and currently residing in New York City, Sinem's musical influences include Norah Jones, Regina Spektor, Ella Fitzgerald, Shakira, Ingrid Michaelson, Bebel Gilberto, Etta James, Debussy, to name a few. This young songstress has won many awards including the Grand Prize in the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Competition. Her music videos aired on MTV Europe, Delta Airlines, and was on CD compilation alongside Grammy-winning artists including Tori Amos, Sarah Bareilles, Sarah Mclaughlin. She sang the national anthem in front of 20,000 people before the Los Angeles Clippers NBA game at the Staples Center in LA, went on a US national tour, headlined at Hotel Cafe to a sold-out crowd, and opened for multi-platinum singer/ songwriter, Lisa Loeb all in the same year. Her award-winning record, "When I Don't Sleep" was produced by Grammy-winning producer Henri Scars-Struck, has garnered press from around the world, and is receiving airplay in NYC's WFUV as well as other taste-maker stations across the country. NYC: PORTRAIT - LINDA RAY AT THE DUPLEX

Following her sold out cabaret debut, singer Linda Ray returns to THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Sunday, June 14th at 4:00 m with a brand new show, PORTRAIT. As she proved in her previous Duplex appearance, Linda has a knack for including delightful but rarely heard songs and doing surprising arrangements of familiar material. You'll hear such stalwarts as Sondheim, Bernstein, Lennon & McCartney, Berlin, and Frishberg as well as such relative newcomers as David Pomeranz, Amanda McBroom, and Marcy Heisler & Zina Goldrich. Sharing the stage will be Music Director Wells Hanley on piano and Noah Hoffield on cello. Bistro Award-winner Gerry Geddes is directing. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: BEN RIMALOWER DEBUTS NEW PLAY "BAD WITH MONEY" 

Ben Rimalower returns with his new play "Bad With Money" to THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Sunday, June 14th at 7:00 pm. Ben Rimalower's addiction to spending beyond his means has driven him to extreme lengths all his life. In BAD WITH MONEY he charts his sometimes hilarious, sometimes harrowing struggle to overcome his problem - or get rich trying. "Bad With Money" is written and performed by Ben Rimalower and directed by Aaron Mark. Rimalower's first solo show, the long-running hit Patti Issues, explored his obsession with Broadway diva Patti LuPone and his relationship with his troubled gay father. Bad with Money delves into even deeper personal territory with the story of his struggle with debt - a journey that takes him through drug addiction, prostitution, fraud and multiple betrayals. There is a $25-$50 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: AARON JACKSON & JOSH SHARP: A GAY SHOW FOR ALL PEOPLE!

Aaron Jackson (UCB) and Josh Sharp (Vulture's '50 Comics You Should Know') host a gay show for all people at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Sunday, June 14th at 9:30 pm. The show is filled with songs and laughs from comics and queers and mostly people who are both. Always featuring handsome hunk Henry Koperski on the keys. This month the show features special guests John Early (Billy on the Street, 30 Rock), Emma Willman (Time Out's '10 Funniest Women in New York), Emily McNamara (54 Below) and Zach Reiner-Harris (Spring Awakening). There is a $12 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: THE VAUDEVILLIANS: BRINGING UP BABY

After selling out an often-extended Off-Broadway run in 2013 (which attracted the likes of Neil Patrick Harris, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Joan Rivers, RuPaul and SNL's Kate McKinnon), a national tour, a 3-month Australian tour (where she was nominated for the Aussie equivalent of a Tony Award), and a summer run in Provincetown, RuPaul's Drag Race favorite Jinkx Monsoon will return to New York with the World Premiere of THE VAUDEVILLIANS: BRINGING UP BABY, a new musical comedy co-starring composer and musician Major Scales. This limited engagement begins performances May 21st at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909). Performances are on Thursday through Monday, June 11th through 15th at 7:00 pm. Dr. Dan and Kitty Witless were put on ice in the Twenties, and had their entire music catalogue purloined by today's pop artists. Now the hottest act ever frozen alive is back again, with more swinging hits from their stolen songbook! There's only one problem: Kitty's "in a family way" and no one's quite sure where the kid came from. Can The Vaudevillians still put on a show while bringing up baby? Major Scales is the evil twin of Richard Andriessen, a musician, writer and performer based in Seattle. He has written everything from award-winning New York shows on the east coast to music for amateur adult films on the west. Jinkx Monsoon is the alter ego of Jerick Hoffer, who graduated with a degree in theatrical performance from Cornish College in Seattle. With ten years experience on stage, Hoffer is a seasoned Portland-born entertainer who has captured the attention of his native northwest region. As early as 2006, Hoffer appeared as the lead dancer in the world's largest drag queen chorus line, which made the Guinness Book of World Records. By 2012, he had advanced to roles in Seattle theaters, playing Moritz in "Spring Awakening" (produced by Balagan Theatre), Angel in "Rent" (produced by The 5th Avenue Theatre), and Hedwig in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" (produced by Balagan Theatre and Seattle Theatre Group). In 2014 he was nominated for the Helpmann Award (alongside the likes of Cate Blanchett, Ivo Van Hove, Denis O'Hare and Baz Luhrmann), the Australian equivalent of a Tony, for his performanace in The Vaudevillians. There is a $25-$50 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

NYC: THE HAUS OF EDWARDS AT THE BEECHMAN

The Haus of Edwards makes its New York City cabaret debut at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE(407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Sunday, June 14th with performances at 9:30 & 11:30 pm. RuPaul's Drag Race stars Alyssa Edwards, Shangela, and Laganja Estranga make up the Haus of Edwards, and perform an energetic, choreographed melange of original songs and covers. There is a $22-$40 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

NYC: THE CUTTING ROOM PRESENTS: BEN HOUGHTON

Ben Houghton and friends present "A Tiny Pink Car to the Sky: An Indian Cabaret" at THE CUTTING ROOM (44 East 32nd Street, NYC - 212-691-1900 - ) to celebrate his 27th birthday on Sunday, June 14th at 7:30 pm. The show will raise money to support his trip to India for four months of volunteering. Explore the cycle of creation, perseverance, preservation, and destruction through comedy, song, and dance. Special guests from Broadway and American Ballet Theater to perform! Ben Houghton (pianist, singer, missionary) currently is a company pianist for American Ballet Theater. He also volunteers for the organization Artists Striving to End Poverty (ASTEP) around New York City and abroad. His arts-based mission trips have taken him to Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and, this fall, India. He also serves as the music director for Broadway Lights the Night, a non-profit that has raised over $75,000 towards cancer research. He has performed and music directed throughout New York and the country, with his off-Broadway music directing debut coming in Jan 2016. There is a $25 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

NYC: LIBERTY: A NEW MUSICAL, CAST ALBUM RELEASE

54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) will celebrate the launch of the brand new cast album of Liberty: A Monumental New Musical with the cast in concert on Sunday, June 14th at 7:00 pm, Abigail Shapiro (How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Shapiro Sisters: Live Out Loud) plays the title role in Liberty: A Monumental New Musical. Liberty also features Emma Rosenthal (Brigadoon) as "Emma Lazurus," Ben McHugh (Mamma Mia!) as "Walker," Cheryl Stern (La Cage aux Folles) as "Moscowitz / Schuyler," Tom Souhrada (Mary Poppins) as "McKay / Pulitzer," Ryan Duncan (Shrek) as "Goodleaf," C. Mingo Long (South Pacific) as "Samuel," and Andrew DiTusa as "Giovanni." Liberty: A Monumental New Musical features a book and lyrics by Dana Leslie Goldstein with music by Jon Goldstein and tells the story of a determined, young French immigrant who arrives alone in New York Harbor in 1884. The powerful, sweeping new musical follows Liberty as she struggles to find her place in the ever- evolving country she's come to symbolize. Liberty: A Monumental New Musical was adapted from original material by Dana Leslie Goldstein, Jon Goldstein, and Robert Bruce McIntosh. There is a $25-$65 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: NICOLAS KING IN "SHAKIN' THE BLUES AWAY!" AT BIRDLAND

The Broadway at Birdland concert series is proud to announce that singer Nicolas King will be making his club debut at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Sunday, June 14th at 6:00 pm. Nicolas will perform "Shakin' the Blues Away!", his collection of 'feel good' songs from the worlds of Jazz, Pop and Broadway. Under the baton of musical director Mike Renzi and his trio, "Shakin' the Blues Away!" has no room for torch songs! Nicolas King has been performing professionally since he was 4 years old. Having been in three Broadway productions (Beauty & The Beast, A Thousand Clowns with Tom Selleck, and Carol Burnett's Hollywood Arms directed by Hal Prince) before the age of 12, he has also appeared in many national TV commercials, including his award winning 'Oscar Mayer Lunchables' commercial. King has appeared on many TV talk shows such as "The View," "The Today Show," "Sally Jesse Raphael," "Liza & David," and twice on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno (most recently as a part of Leno's final week as host). Releasing his latest album in 2010,"NINETEEN", with jazz icon Mike Renzi (now available on iTunes), he has performed on the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon for 8 consecutive years live from Las Vegas, the Mabel Mercer Foundation's "Cabaret Convention" for 5 years, and originated the voice of "Oscar" on Discovery Kids "Kenny The Shark." King is the recipient of the 1995 and 1996 Talent America Award, 2010 Julie Wilson Award,and New York's Bistro Award in 2012 for 'Outstanding Performer of theYear.' He has also performed alongside his mentor, the legendary Liza Minnelli, since he was 11 years old as her opening act from 2002-2012, touring all over the country. King has performed on many iconic stages including appearances at Lincoln Center, The Palace Theater in New York, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, and the Royal Room at the Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, FL.
