INDIANAPOLIS, IN: INDY MEN'S CHORUS: A NIGHT AT THE CABARET

Members of Indianapolis Men's Chorus, led by artistic director Greg Sanders, step out of the choir to spotlight their individual talents and formidable showmanship in an intimate evening of cabaret at THE CABARET AT THE COLUMBIA CLUB (121 Monument Circle, Indianapolis, IN - 317-275-1169) on Friday, June 12th with performances at 7:00 & 9:30 pm. Since its founding in 1990, the Indianapolis Men's Chorus (IMC) has been wowing audiences with its excellent singing and flair for entertainment. With a repertoire that draws upon many styles of music, the volunteer chorus gracefully interprets everything from classical music, spirituals, Broadway and world music, always with agility and panache. Through its concert season and special appearances, the IMC inspires diversity, equality and justice by bringing gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered persons and their allies together through the transformative power of music. Under the artistic direction of Greg Sanders, the IMC is celebrating its 25th season amid an era of renewed growth. The chorus's 2014•2015 roster includes more than 60 singers. There is a $25-$55 cover plus a $12 food/drink minimum.

CHICAGO: JAMES GAVIN AND MICHAEL MCBRIDE ARE MOVIN' ON UPTOWN

The dynamic duo of James Gavin and Michael McBride will present their monthly cabaret, "Movin' On Uptown," on every second Friday of the month at 7:30 pm at UPTOWN UNDERGROUND(4707 North Broadway, Chicago, IL - 773-867-1946) ! Join the thrills, as this exciting team takes you through a musical journey spanning the classics of yesterday, the world of musical theater, and the contemporary hits. Call for cover/minimum information.

CHICAGO: LADIES SING THE BLUES: A BILLIE HOLIDAY CENTENNIAL BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

In honor of Billie Holiday's 100th birthday, music from her Columbia, Commodore, Verve and Decca catalogue will be sung by an outstanding roster of Chicago jazz, blues and cabaret artists, at THE SKOKIE THEATRE(7924 Lincoln Avenue, Skokie, IL - 847-677-7761) on Friday, June 12th at 8:00 pm. Performers scheduled to perform include Deitra Farr, Kimberly Gordon, Sophie Grimm, Lynne Jordan, Frieda Lee, Tecora Rogers, and Jeannie Tanner. Musical direction by Johnny Rodgers with Jim Cox on bass and Eric Schneider on horns. Directed by Daryl Nitz. As with all live entertainment events, cast subject to change without notice. Celebrate the birthday of this legendary artist in style. Songs such as What a Little Moonlight Can Do, A Fine Romance, Easy Livin, Strange Fruit, Body and Soul, Don't Explain, Loverman, Good Morning, Heartache, and her signature song God Bless the Child are included plus many more. CHICAGO: JULIA HAWKINS IN FALLING FOR NOBODY ELSE FOR YOU

Love and laughter ensue as sassy, brassy Julia Hawkins returns to DAVENPORT'S (1383 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-278-1830) on Friday, June 12th at 8:00 pm to make you "fall" once again with the help of Irving Berlin, Rodgers and Hart, George Gershwin, Kurt Weill and Cole Porter - to name a few. Musical director is Michael Evans with Aaron Smith on Bass. There is an $18 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
