NYC: SARA ZAHN: "RE-TOUCHING MY ROOTS"

Sara Zahn brings her show "Re-touching My Roots" to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Monday, May 11th at 7:00 pm. Relax let your hair down - come to the Metropolitan Room for a look back at Sara's varied song style and hair style choices. From Broadway to Blues, from Blond to Brunette and every musical and Clairol color in between - Sara combs through the last 20 years of her colorful, coiffed career. Making sure every song is in place is her longtime Director, Barry Kleinbort. She will be accompanied at the piano by Musical Director Allan Kashkin as they revisit each nostalgic note.

NYC: FROM BROADWAY TO BRAZIL WITH EVA RICHARDS

Eva Richards sings songs from award winning Broadway musicals, Latin standards such as "Besame Mucho" and "Guantanamera" as well as Bossa Nova hits including "The Girl from Ipanema" and "Dindi" at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Monday, May 11th at 9:30 pm. Eva takes you on a musical excursion starting at the Great White Way heading down the East Coast, through the Caribbean and ending in Brazil. This highly versatile singer-actress has worked with best of the best in the industry from Tony nominee John Tartaglia to Broadway veteran Shannon Lewis. Previously she played the role of Dorothy in the seven time Tony award winning musical, The Wiz. Internationally acclaimed, Eva performed the roles of Fredrika and Mrs. Segstrom in the Japanese production of A Little Night Music and Ninya Petrova in the national tour of Ellis Island. Recognized for her talent at an early age, Eva attended the prestigious LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. She starred in a one night special with Paul Simon at Carnegie Hall and sang choral masterworks at Alice Tulley Hall. An adept comedienne, Ms. Richards studied improv comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade and worked with award winning improvisers, Shannon O'Neill, Brandon Gardner, Chelsea Clarke and Christian Capozzoli. A native of Queens, New York, Eva is an alumna of SUNY Fredonia from which she graduated Cum Laude and with honors in liberal arts, completing her B.A. in Vocal Music. Eva's band is made up of four top tier musicians. Bassist Irio O'Farrill, Guitarist Peter Calo, Percussionist Doug Hinrichs, led by Musical Director, Phil Hall. No stranger to the cabaret musical world, Eva has headlined at several chic New York City cabaret venues including the Laurie Beechman Theatre and B.B. King's Lucille's Bar & Grill. In every performance she whips out a mean pop-rock showstopper with her high belt and melts audiences with her velvety phrasing in lyrical ballads. There is a $20 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: LEZLIE HARRISON, HILARY GARDNER AND BRIANNA THOMAS IN "POMPIE'S PLACE"

"Pompie's Place," a unique pop-up blues supper-club is taking up residence at DON'T TELL MAMA(343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788). Produced by Arthur Pomposello, "Pompie's Place" is an immersive nightclub experience transporting audiences to a mythic blues room of another time and place, in which the food is hot and the music even hotter! Performances are scheduled for Monday May 11th at 7:00 pm, and Thursday, May 28th at 7:00 pm. "Pompie's Place" stars three of New York's most distinguished blues and jazz singers: Lezlie Harrison, Brianna Thomas and Hilary Gardner. Music director is Ehud Asherie, leading a quartet that includes Ken Peplowski (reeds), Jon-Erik Kellso (trumpet) and Jackie Williams (drums). Featuring a mix of blues of many stripes, from the Delta to Broadway, Chicago and Memphis, "Pompie's Place" is a hybrid of nightclub and theatre, in which audiences are treated not just to a spicy Cajun meal, but to the deep-dish travails of the club's three headliners, and the club's host. Tickets are $65, which includes a three-course Cajun meal.

NYC: "SEARCH: PAUL CLAYTON" THE MAN WHO LOVED BOB DYLAN

STAGE 72 (158 West 72nd Street, NYC - 212-362-2590) presents the New York premiere of a new folk musical, 'Search: Paul Clayton, the Man Who Loved Bob Dylan', which features 14 classic folk songs, The show will play for 13 performances only from Wednesday, May 6th through Thursday, May 21st. Showtimes and days vary so check the STAGE 72 Website. The opening night is Thursday, May 7th at 7:00 pm, with a second show on Friday, May 8th at 9:00 pm. 'Search: Paul Clayton' celebrates the true story in words and song of one of Bob Dylan's first musical mentors. Paul Clayton of New Bedford, Massachusetts was the most recorded young folk singer in America when Bobby Zimmerman arrived in 1961 Greenwich Village to begin his career as Bob Dylan. It was Paul who helped open the doors of the folk world to him. From 1961 to 1965 Paul taught Bob the tricks of the trade, while falling hopelessly in love with him. The show was conceived and written by Larry Mollin ("Beverly Hills 90210"), directed by Randal Myler (Tony Award nominee, It Ain't Nothin' But The Blues) with musical direction by Fred Mollin and is produced by Dan Whitten and TIGER Theatricals. "Search: Paul Clayton" will feature Peter Oyloe as Paul Clayton, Jared Weiss as Bob Dylan, Ereni Sevasti as Joan Baez, Jaime Babbitt as Carla Rotolo, Allan Harris as the Rev. Gary Davisand Michael Lanning as Dave Van Ronk. Call for cover/minimum information.

NYC: GENERATIONS: A KNIGHT OF THEATRE UCF AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL FLORIDA

Generations: A Knight of Theatre UCF at the University of Central Florida will be held at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Monday, May 11th at 7:00 pm. The event is a celebration of Theatre UCF performers of the past and present. The performance is directed by Tara Snyder with musical direction and accompaniment by Pati McMahan Sayers. The performance also features the talents of UCF students and alumni Tara Snyder, Anna Carol, Khristy Chamberlain, Cornelius Davis, Danielle Raniere, Derik Lawson, Rheanna Salazar, Gabe Friedman, Amanda Hornberger, and Willow Draper. There is a $10 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: THE CAST OF SIDE SHOW: ADDED ATTRACTIONS

After sold out 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) performances in March, the cast of the recent Broadway revival of Side Show reunites to celebrate this acclaimed production on Monday, May 11th with performances at 7:00 & 9:30 pm. Erin Davie, Emily Padgett, Matthew Hydzik, David St. Louis and members of the ensemble perform favorites from the show, a couple songs which were cut out of town, and material which won't be heard on the Original Cast Recording. Hosted by Bill Russell, author of the book and lyrics, the evening will also feature composer Henry Krieger and special guest Jeff McCarthy from the original cast. These encore concerts are to celebrate the launch of the Side Show: Added Attractions - Live at 54 BELOW CD. The cast and creators will be available after the show to autograph CDs! NYC: KEVIN ANDREAS / SASHA PAPERNIK AT JOE'S PUB

Kevin Andreas moves center stage at JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) on Monday, May 11th at 9:30 pm as part of a double bill with Sasha Papernik. Kevin has spent the majority of his career behind the spotlight as a sideman, studio musician, singer/writer, and producer. Having worked with artists from hip-hop's A$AP Rocky to comedy legend Sandra Bernhard, Kevin has finally stepped out of the shadow of his former employers to attack the music world head on with catchy hooks, impeccable guitar skills, and an explosive live show with some of New York City's most in demand and soulful musicians. You may remember Kevin's production and vocal skills on A$AP Rocky's breakout track, "Peso," which launched A$AP into the national spotlight in 2011. Kevin's solo project is a burst of fresh pop rock energy, drawing on elements of classic Hendrix-era rock and fresh contemporary pop. He is backed by an ensemble of NYC's hottest musicians. Sasha Papernik, the Russian-American classical pianist, singer, and songwriter brings her wide range of talents to an entertaining program spanning genres and continents. Scriabin, Prokofiev, Irving Berlin, Russian folk songs, and original works appear in her repertoire. Sasha was invited to perform at Lincoln Center's Meet the Artist, Lincoln Center Local, and Carnegie Hall's popular Musical Explorers series in 2014. Her 2013 self-released bilingual pop album, Victory, has been hailed by reviewers. There is a $15 cover.

NYC: DINE & DANCE WITH VINCE GIORDANO AND THE NIGHTHAWKS - NOW AT THE IGUANA

Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks are back - and now will play every Monday & Tuesday night from 8:00 to 11:00 pm at at IGUANA'S VIP LOUNGE (240 West 54th Street, NYC - 212-765-5454). Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks is an eleven-piece band playing music of the 1920s & 30s for your dining and dancing pleasure. In 1976 Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks (originally known as the New Orleans Nighthawks) was formed. A big-band historian and collector, Giordano has more than 60,000 scores in his collection. Giordano is the leading American specialist in the jazz styles of the 1920s and 1930s. His primary instrument is the bass saxophone. Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks have performed at countless music festivals and concert dates, and have appeared in - and provided music for - dozens of television and film projects, including the award-winning HBO series Boardwalk Empire. There is a $15 cover (at the door) plus a $15 food drink minimum.

NYC: APOLLO LINK AT BIRDLAND

The Broadway at Birdland concert series is proud to present Apollo Link, Broadway's premier vocal trio, at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Monday, May 11th at 7:00 pm. This trio has been infiltrating the internet with a unique sound. After half-a-million YouTube hits, the trio brings original arrangements, impeccable harmonies and powerful vocals to Birdland. Apollo Link, which formed in the winter of 2012, is comprised of Brandon Rubendall (Spider-Man, Anything Goes, Wicked), Adam Roberts (Spider-Man, Pippin) and Jake Odmark (Spider-Man, Kinky Boots), the latter being the group's sole music arranger. The trio met and began developing their sound while performing on Broadway in the web-slinging musical, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, which incidentally also inspired the group's name. There, in the Foxwoods Theater's acoustic hallways, they found their blend re-imagining everything from classic holiday tunes to today's top 40 hits. There is a $25 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.

NYC: JIM CARUSO'S "CAST PARTY" MONDAYS AT BIRDLANDFEATURED OPEN MIC EVENT

Every Monday night at 9:30 pm, Broadway impresario Jim Caruso hosts "Cast Party", a combination open-mic, networking event and party at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) during which the biggest stars on Broadway relax on their night off by performing their favorite songs in an informal setting. Cast Party is a mix of music, impromptu performance and cocktail party revelry, where showbiz superstars, stunning jazz talents and cabaret glitterati hit the stage alongside up-and-comers to serve up jaw-dropping music and general razzle-dazzle. It's the ultimate spot to mix and mingle with talented show folk and their fans. There is a $20 cover plus a $10 food/drink minimum.
