NYC: CAROLYN MONTGOMERY-FORANT: VISIBLE PHOENIX

MAC, Back Stage Bistro and Nightlife Award winning singer, songwriter and recording artist Carolyn Montgomery-Forant, returns to the New York City stage in her first solo show in eight years! Her show 'Visible Phoenix' continues at THE WEST BANK CAFE/LAURIE BEECHMAN THEATRE (407 West 42nd Street, NYC - 212-695-6909) on Fridays, April 10th and May 8th, 2015 - both shows at 7:00 pm. Musical direction is by Donald Rebic (Leslie Uggams, Karen Akers), and the show features a five-piece band and Carolyn's trio of back-up singers, The Fine Whine. Montgomery-Forant returned to the stage one year ago, in January 2014. Within nine short months, she was featured in the acclaimed review The Amanda McBroom Project (directed by Broadway's Arthur Masella, and co-starring Karen Akers, Mandy Gonzales, Lacretta Ross and KT Sullivan) at the Studio Theater in New York City; she appeared in the popular series Broadway by the Year at Town Hall and she co-starred at 54 Below to standing room only crowds in the hit show Dirty Little Songs. In addition, Montgomery-Forant took her fledging solo act to Davenport's in Chicago, The Hackney Attic in London, and Martuni's in San Francisco, delighting audiences and critics alike. Directed by Eric Michael Gillett, this comeback tour de force incorporates music from a wide range of genres and eras, original comedy, and a few songs with music and lyrics by Montgomery-Forant herself. NYC: BRENDER & EDDIE PRESENT SALSABELLA WITH A A BIRTHDAY AND HALF-BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Brender & Eddie, also known as Lisa Papandrea and Lindsay Fisher, will present A Birthday and Half-Birthday Celebration at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Friday, April 10th at 7:00 pm. Brender & Eddie have been performing as a singing/guitar playing duo for over 10 years. Hailing from the Venice of New Jersey, Lisa and Lindsay have had the honor of performing at some of the world's greatest events and venues including the 2004 CHS Senior Fashion Show, the roof of Curry Castle and the sort-of annual Festivus Show. Playing some of your favorite hits and maybe some lesser known gems, they're probably best known for their popular rendition of "Stand By Me (The Bruce & Bono version)." Join them as they celebrate the birth of their beloved friends, as well as the half birthday of Eddie herself. There is a $12 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

Molly Pope, brassy belter /whiskey guzzler /lovable lunatic, sheds all pretense of humility and shamelessly entreats you to adore her for an hour while she prances about making loud noises at THE DUPLEX CABARET THEATRE (61 Christopher Street, NYC - 212-255-5438) on Friday, April 10th at 9:30 pm. Unable to deny that she defines her self worth entirely via social media notifications, Molly exploits her fragile ego and vocal chops for your entertainment. Expect the unexpected juxtapositions of song and substance that have made her a downtown favorite, as well as a healthy helping of her roots in The Great American Songbook. She's just a hard-hearted softie who likes you an awful lot. Over-sharing? Of course. Sing-a-long? Yes. 3 encores? Why not. Molly Pope likes your status. Molly Pope is a critically acclaimed cabarettist whose shows have played Joe's Pub, Feinstein's at Loews Regency, Ars Nova, The Laurie Beechman Theater and the Adelaide Cabaret Festival in Australia. She has also performed at The Cafe Carlyle ("Tales From The Jazz Age"), the Afterglow Festival in Provincetown and "Our Hit Parade" at Joe's Pub. On stage she has appeared in FOUND (Atlantic Theater Co), "Horseplay, or: The Fickle Mistress" (La MaMa/Theatre Askew), Dan Fishback's "The Material World" (Dixon Place), "Wonderful Town" (Gallery Players). There is a $15 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.

NYC: FRANK CARILLO AND THE BANDOLEROS AT THE CUTTING ROOM

Frank Carillo, the epitome of the "musician's musician", will perform at THE CUTTING ROOM (44 East 32nd Street, NYC - 212-691-1900) on Friday, April 10th at 7:30 pm. He is joined by special guest Mark Lacob. Throughout his career, Frank's craftsmanship as a gifted world-class guitar player, electrifying stage performances, memorable prolific songwriting and his warm and affable persona have allowed him to make an indelible mark on the international music scene. Carillo toured extensively throughout 1978 and 1979, playing with such acts as the J. Geils Band, Cheap Trick, Van Halen and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. During a break in touring late in 1978, Frank found time to collaborate with Carly Simon, co-writing the song, "Pure Sin." Frank played guitar on the track, which was produced by world-renowned producer Arif Mardin for Carly's Spy album. The second Carillo album, Street of Dreams, was released on Atlantic in 1979 and also had another luminary doing backing vocals: Michael Bolton. After the release of this album, Frank embarked on a 64-show U.S.A. tour opening for Bad Company. Playing to sold-out audiences in major areas across America, Carillo stunned the critics and fans with electrifying shows that received rave reviews throughout the United States, with standing ovations and encores occurring at every show. The tour culminated in San Antonio, Texas, when after Bad Company's show, Carillo and Bad Company came out on stage and jammed, rocking the roof off the building! In 1986, Frank began writing and producing sessions with famed British model, actress, and singer Twiggy while she was in New York performing in a Broadway play. These sessions once again brought Frank and Carly Simon together, performing backing vocals on the Twiggy recordings. There is a $25 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

NYC: TABOO - THE ULTIMATE SANTANA EXPERIENCE

THE CUTTING ROOM (44 East 32nd Street, NYC - 212-691-1900) presents Taboo - The Ultimate Santana Experience on Friday, April 10th at 10:30 pm. In 1969, Santana burst on the music scene with a searing performance at Woodstock. The innovative combination of electric blues-rock guitar and afro-cuban rhythms filled their music with heart, soul and a burning sensuality that's never been duplicated to this day. Inspired by the incredible intensity of this music, all the members of Taboo share a passion for re-creating the electrifying sound of Santana's greatest hits. Whether performing at numerous Street Fairs, corporate parties, or various live music venues in the Tri-State area, audiences, without exception, have been wowed by the authenticity of the magic Santana sound that Taboo delivers. It's all there: the propulsive Latin percussion, the fiery lead guitar work, the "groove" that connects to the soul of the audience. NYC: PATTI LUPONE - "THE LADY WITH THE TORCH"

Broadway's Patti LuPone returns to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) for an extended run that begins on Thursday, April 2nd and extends to Tuesday, April 14th. Patti LuPone's appearances at 54 Below have already achieved the status of legend. The two-time Tony Award winner returns to 54 Below with her critically-acclaimed show The Lady with A Torch. LuPone performs an eclectic collection of torch songs by such composers and lyricists as Arthur Schwartz, Howard Dietz, Jule Styne, Sammy Cahn, Billy Barnes, Harold Arlen, George and Ira Gershwin, and Cole Porter. The show is conceived and directed by Scott Wittman, musical direction by Joseph Thalken, orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick and dialogue by Jeffrey Richman. Show dates and times are Thursday through Saturday, April 2nd through 4th at 7:00 pm; Monday through Saturday, April 6th through 11th at 7:00 pm; Monday & Tuesday, April 13th & 14th at 7:00 pm; with an additional late show on Saturday, April 11th at 9:30 pm. There is a $90-$155 cover plus a $30 food/drink minimum.

NYC: JOSHUA WARR MAKES 54 BELOW DEBUT

Joshua Warr (The Americans, Law & Order: SVU, Hunting Season), actor, dancer, singer, fashion plate and confirmed bachelor comes to 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Friday, April 10th at 9:30 pm to share his "Wickedly Funny" and fabulously entertaining thoughts on a certain 4-Letter Word. With the help of multiple award winning creative team Miles Phillips (Director) and Jason Wynn (Music Director), his band, backup singers and a very special "surprise" duet with Josh's inseparably close friend and confidant, Stormy Weatherz, Joshua tackles the sticky subject with passion, wit and humor, using Broadway and Popular Standards plus a healthy helping of Pop and Rock to uncover "The Truth About Love." Love & Warr is candid, dazzling, vulnerable, sexy and undeniably moving. In other words, it's pure Joshua. You don't want to miss this. It's going to be a bumpy night! NYC: AN EVENING WITH JOHN HUME & MILA HENRY

In 2009, John Hume walked into an Upper West Side rehearsal hall and met Mila Henry. Fred had met his Ginger and the rest, as they say, is history. From those humble beginnings, the pair has traveled the world (well, New York City at least!) and wowed audiences at their sold-out engagements at The Metropolitan Room, Don't Tell Mama's, and The Duplex. After a two-year absence since their last solo show, John and Mila are reuniting for a very special Evening at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) on Friday, April 10th at 11:30 pm as part of the club's Late Night Series. Join them as they revisit some of their favorite songs from the Hume and Henry catalogue, introduce you to numbers from previous shows that ended up on the cutting room floor and put their classic Johnnie and Mila spin on some brand-new tunes. From Styne to Sondheim. From dive bars to supper clubs. From good times to bum times they've seen 'em all ... and my dear? They're still here! Featuring: Allison Linker, Miranda Wilson, Music Director by Mila Henry and Directed by: Jody Shelton. There is a $15-$30 cover plus a $20 food/drink minimum.

NYC: AN INTIMATE EVENING REMEMBERING THE CAFE PIERRE 

Spend an intimate evening remembering the famed Cafe Pierre at CAFE NOCTAMBULO AT PANGEA (178 Second Avenue, NYC - 212-995-0900) featuring Kathleen Landis and Nancy Winston on Friday, April 10th at 7:00 & 9:00 pm. Kathleen and Nancy re-kindle the flame that was lit at the Cafe Pierre for two decades. One of the most special places on earth the Cafe was full of great music, eclectic staff, bold faced names, celebrities and debutantes. Kathleen will be showcasing some of her new jazz work as well as songs written by cabaret favorite composer Francesca Blumenthal. Nancy will showcase some of her own compositions and work with guest performers who would come by and sing a number at the Pierre such as cabaret personality Evan Stern and former Maitre D'/Opera Singer Ramon Avalo. NYC: NOCHE FLAMENCA AT JOE'S PUB

JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555) presents a special run of shows by the dazzling "Soledad Barrio & Noche Flamenca," on Satruday & Sunday, April 4th & 5th at 9:30 pm; and Monday through Friday, April 6th through 10th at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. Noche Flamenca, whose vitality, energy and passion have won accolades around the world will continue the legacy that they have built at their New York City home.
